KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd's share price climbed nine sen, or 2.51 per cent, to RM3.67 at 4.18 pm today, on news its managing director, Datuk Lin Yun Ling, has raised his stake in the construction firm.
The counter, which moved between RM3.55 and RM3.69, saw 3.809 million shares traded.
It was reported that Lin's stake increase was to send a signal to the market of his commitment to the group.
Executives close to Gamuda said Lin in fact planned to accept a renewal of his employment contract for another term, if offered.
A civil engineer by training, Lin joined Gamuda in 1978 as a senior project manager and was appointed managing director in 1981.
Following the purchase, Lin's direct stake has risen to 2.89 per cent from 2.55 per cent a day earlier. -- BERNAMA
