KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained firm at mid-morning today on the back of gains in heavyweights and blue chips.
At 11.03am, the key index was quoted 3.1 points better at 1,874.76.
Among the top gainers were Allianz Malaysia and British American Tobacco, which jumped 48 sen each to RM10.88 and RM62.88 respectively, followed by United Plantations, which rose 34 sen to RM27.96.
Of the other heavyweights, Maybank added 3.0 sen to RM9.97, Public Bank appreciated 12 sen to RM20.60, TNB eased 4.0 sen to RM12.12 and CIMB was flat at
RM7.36.
Among actives, Advance Synergy and Salcon added 1.5 sen each to 25 sen and 80.5 sen respectively, and Olympia Industries was up 1.0 sen to 18 sen.
Bargain hunters beat profit takers as gainers edged losers 279 to 278, while 295 counters were unchanged, 767 untraded and 34 others suspended.
Volume stood at 440.02 million shares worth RM409.3 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 47.54 points to 17,269.02, the Industrial Index eased 0.74 point to 3,178.71 and the Plantation Index was up 3.88 points to 9,116.93.
The FBM Emas Index bagged 23.33 points to 12,952.92, the FBM 70 increased 29.36 points to 14,042.4, the FBMT100 Index added 22.02 points to 12,601.91 but
the FBM ACE shed 32.45 points for 6,606.8.
Meanwhile, Bursa Malaysia today announced that ECM Libra Financial Group Bhd has been uplifted from Practice Note 17 (PN17) status.-- Bernama
