Hello, sime is still dropping even though market is rebounding , is there any other issue beside divided adjustment? How much more do you think it may go down

PETALING JAYA: An inheritance tax, believed to be a proposal for the 2025 budget, would be unfair to property owners, especially those who have invested in real estate for their future generations, says the National House Buyers Association.

SIME disclosed that its unit Prime Rentals was deregistered on July 3 after a voluntary deregistration application was submitted to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission on April 30, a Wednesday Malaysian bourse filing disclosed.

The deregistration will not materially affect the company earnings or net assets for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, the Malaysian conglomerate said.

Full year 2024 earnings: EPS and revenues exceed analyst expectations

Full year 2024 results:
EPS: RM0.18 (down from RM0.19 in FY 2023).
Revenue: RM67.1b (up 39% from FY 2023).
Net income: RM1.26b (down 1.9% from FY 2023).
Profit margin: 1.9% (down from 2.7% in FY 2023). The decrease in margin was driven by higher expenses.

Revenue exceeded analyst estimates by 7.1%. Earnings per share (EPS) also surpassed analyst estimates by 134%.

Revenue is forecast to grow 4.0% p.a. on average during the next 3 years, compared to a 7.1% growth forecast for the Industrials industry in Asia.

Over the last 3 years on average, earnings per share has increased by 8% per year but the company’s share price has only increased by 2% per year, which means it is significantly lagging earnings growth.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): Total new vehicle sales in Malaysia, also known as total industry volume (TIV), dropped 8% in October to 69,859 units from 76,173 units sold in the same month last year, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

Of the new vehicle sales in October, passenger vehicles made up 64,322 units — down 6% from 68,721 units in October last year — while commercial vehicle sales fell 26%, to 5,537 units from 7,452 units.

Nevertheless, October’s TIV is up 20% from September’s 58,032 units, driven by year-end promotions and an extended working month.

This raised TIV for January to October to 664,002 units, up 2.4% over the same period's 648,130 units last year. This comprised 608,225 passenger vehicles (up 5% from 581,672
in January-October 2023), and 55,777 units of commercial vehicles (down 16% from 66,458 units previously).

For November, MAA is expecting new vehicle sales to be higher than October's level.

Vehicle production fell 4% y-o-y

Total new vehicle production in October fell by 4% to 71,196 units from 74,191 units last year, with passenger vehicles dropping 4%, while commercial vehicles fell 9%.

Nonetheless, new vehicle production in January-October this year climbed 4% to 664,246 units versus 640,633 units in the corresponding period last year.

In July, MAA raised its vehicle sales forecast for this year by 3.38% following strong sales in the first half of the year. TIV is expected to come in at 765,000 units for 2024 compared with the 740,000 units projected at the start of the year.

Based on the total vehicles sold so far this year of 664,002 units, at least another 100,998 units will have to be sold within the next two months to achieve MAA's target.

Due to reduction in vehicles demand (more of normalisation comparing to previously such a huge demand for vehicles - clearly can see it with the long waiting time against now). Also, not sure how China's business will turn out as due to poor economy. I think is for u to think if this QR will be good or bad, then u can decide to hold longer term or cut loss

Yes it will affect Perodua and Proton as well. But perodua is mainly on entry and affordable segment the affect maybe lesser compare to foreign CKD car

The perodua margin is much lesser. All these while CKD cars take advantage on assembly car locally and pay tax according to the manufacturing cost and not on the showroom price

Sime Darby Berhad (“Sime”) wishes to announce that UMW Machinery Limited (“UML”), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime, was placed under members’ voluntary winding-up on 21 November 2024, in accordance with the Myanmar Companies Law 2017 and Myanmar Insolvency Law.

Deloitte Touche Myanmar Vigour Advisory Limited was appointed as the liquidator of UML.

The winding-up of UML will not have a material effect on the earnings or net assets of the Sime Group for the financial year ending 30 June 2025. None of the Directors or major shareholders of Sime or persons connected with them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the said winding-up.
