PADU is a big slap to the face of PH as 2/3 of the population refused to sign up and it is similar to a government which failed the referendum vote. They cannot divide the nation with two sets of people. One with PADU and one without as it will be against our constitution laws and civil liberty. This the the reason why last minute they have to include the rest automatically. Once they government removed the petrol subsidy our economy will collapse instantly as our economy basically has been in ICU supported by blood infusion (petrol subsidy).

PADU is the right move to filter out the deserving from the undeserving

Although I'm a retirees, I personally think subsidy is bad . Government which are running on deficit with riding mountain of debts. It just a matter of time when we turn to IMF for loans.

This giant is tiding up few cents a day.. in slow motion mode..
It hardly attract any retailers however, the chart is in super bullish upward trend like CIMB

Reference from 1 year chart 2023) from 8 to 9.70 up 1.70 = 21%
Hence, 9.70x27% = $11.7 end year 2024

Padu is a waste of time n futile. Economic minister should implement more practical schemes or resign.

My guess that the price has been yo-yo of late is bcos fund managers want to scare bilis into selling and to take up their share. looking back in time, this sort of horse trading always occurs when big boys want to acquire back the shares they sold earlier which in EPF case is due to dividend distribution earlier. Anyone share my thoughts on this as well?

A lot of people think that Padu is a waste of time but what to do? PM and his best sidekick wan to do it.

PH is in danger of losing support if it continues with unpopular schemes like Padu

should i buy now or should i wait for it to drop? i heard people said it will drop after dividends, still new here hahaha, hope i can learn from everyone

new8888…if you are planning for accumulating Maybank for long-term dividend play…u may buy anytime..

Decide how much to invest every month, and buy periodically. When receive dividend, do reinvest to buyback new units.

Secret of Maybank investment are dollar-cost averaging (DCA) and dividend reinvestment (DRP).

Not surprise with their poor service , if u go open an account the staff will ask you so many questions ! I already transfered out all my deposits to HLB few years ago !

jeffchan1901

@new8888 definitely price will drop when x date as the earnings given to shareholders. You either buy before x date and earn the difference in profit or wait till x date and scoop on the cheap. Depends on when you have available funds and timing. I have done both. On the dollar cost average I usually don't practice that when it is raising. Only do it on falling prices and only after a significant drop. Other investors may have differing strategies. Whichever hope it works out for you

Continue support of course. Nobody invite you to set up accounts with maybank.

Bigger bank = more users = more strain to systems = more prone to cyber attacks

This is partly the reason why I prefer to bank with smaller banks, call Customer Service also no need hold on the phone line for long, very fast response 😆

@newbie2019..no luck..did not match..will try again after cuti Raya.

Steven Chan

It's surprising that Tiger as a leading bank n advance in digital banking is so poor in customer service.. Ignoring customer service is it's greatest flaw n could affect its credibility soon.

Adagold

Yes, it's okay to do dollar cost averaging for Maybank, maybe not for some other counters. Can buy slowly for long term, especially if it becomes cheaper buy more. We all can make money from Maybank dividends.
