Seagate Technologies STX had perhaps the most impressive quarter post-closing bell. Its fiscal Q4 earnings came in at $1.05 per share — 20 cents higher than the Zacks consensus and a whopping +680% over the -$0.18 per share posted a year ago for the Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy)-rated cloud and AI tech firm. Revenues of $1.89 billion outpaced the $1.86 billion expected, and marks the third-straight earnings beat for the company, which is up +6.4% in late trading, adding to the +27% gains year to date.

Seagate next quarter earning guidance :
Outlook: Seagate expects first-quarter revenue of approximately $2.1 billion, plus or minus $150 million, versus estimates of $1.877 billion. The company anticipates first-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.40 per share, plus or minus 20 cents per share, versus estimates of 75 cents per share.
Seagate's strong guidance appears to be driving shares higher after hours.

With Seagate Qtr report out, it obvious end-customer for AI cloud data center start buying HDD, SDD memory across the globe. Starting this Q2'24 result and moving forward, this is a kickstart big for all storage memory with raising AI data center across the world. Imagine there will be billons of billions of HDD require to support 10,000 data centers across the world till year 2030. That's a massive big in HDD revenue & earning starting this Qtr and for next 2030.

One thing JCY has many short term traders, trade in & out very fast, volatile. Slightly hard to push up higher unless JCY next Qtr result is good, mgmt able to deliver and hit EPS 1.6sen. Hope it does. Just trade caution.

well, I personally am kind of inclined to be a bit more cautious about things like 3q report, price in august etc.
I would already be more than glad if 3q profit beats 2q profit by a factor of 1.5 - 2, and price at end 2024 hits rm1.10
but if actual figures turn out better than those I would consider it as a great bonus
BTW, I'm already looking beyond 3q and 4q, so I don't really think that I should be so concerned about 3q report all that much at all

Just imagine 7 consecutive Qr losses then suddenly last Qr start to make profit at 50% factory capacity.
i think the worst already behind JCY now. so now we're looking at growth for both revenue/profit and capacity expansion. RM 1 before Qr seems possible. Also need to remember that this co giving out dividends every year until they're loss making.. so we can look forward to dividend plays as well but not in near future i guess..

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 — Malaysia’s stock market is experiencing a resurgence as global investors regain interest, following years of net outflows. International funds have become net buyers of Malaysian equities in the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence (AI) data centres. Malaysia is emerging as a significant player in AI-related services. CIMB Securities projects that KLCI company's earnings will grow by 11 per cent in 2024 and 8 per cent in 2025 compared to just 5 per cent last year.

No big deal for JCY today surge 6.52% and now at 0.735. Previously it was 0.8 in average. More momentum is required to gain traction for the rise of HDD/Data center business. I would expect a bigger leap when the QR report is out as soon as early August.

Seagate report Total revenues of HDD (91.5% of revenues) rose 25% year over year to $1.727 billion in the reported quarter. On a sequential basis, revenues were up 17%.
Systems, SSD & Other segment’s revenues (8.5%), including enterprise data solutions, cloud systems and solid-state drives, were $160 million, down 27% on a year-over-year basis and 10% sequentially.
