Description IRIS CORPORATION BERHAD ("IRIS" OR THE "COMPANY")
ROXWELL GROUP SDN BHD ("APPLICANT") AGAINST:
(1) IRIS ("1ST RESPONDENT");
(2) TAN SAY JIM ("2ND RESPONDENT"); AND
(3) SU THAI PING ("3RD RESPONDENT").
Reference is made to earlier announcements dated 23 March 2017, 28 March 2017, 28 November 2019, 1 August 2022 and 30 August 2022 in respect of: -
a) the Writ of Summons dated 10 March 2017 filed at the High Court of Kuala Lumpur (Suit No. WA-22NCVC-126-03/2017) by Roxwell Group Sdn Bhd (“Plaintiff”) against (1) IRIS (“D1”), (2) Tan Say Jim (“D2”), (3) Su Thai Ping (“D3”), (4) Hamdan bin Mohd Hassan (“D4”) and (5) Sylla Ibrahima Sory (“D5”);
b) the appeal filed on 20 December 2019 at the Court of Appeal (Civil Appeal No. W-02(NCvC)(W)-2407-12/2019) by Roxwell Group Sdn Bhd (“Appellant”) against (1) IRIS (“1st Respondent”), (2) Tan Say Jim (“2nd Respondent”) and (3) Su Thai Ping (“3rd Respondent”); and
c) the notice of motion for leave to appeal to the Federal Court (Motion No. 08(f)-409-08/2022(W)) on 26 August 2022 (“Leave to Appeal to the Federal Court”) by Roxwell Group Sdn Bhd (“Applicant”) against (1) IRIS (“1st Respondent”), (2) Tan Say Jim (“2nd Respondent”) and (3) Su Thai Ping (“3rd Respondent”),
(collectively referred to as the “Suit”).
Unless otherwise defined, the terms used in this announcement shall carry the same meanings as defined in the earlier announcements.
IRIS wishes to announce that at the hearing on 17 May 2023, the Federal Court i.e. the final court of appeal unanimously dismissed the motion for Leave to Appeal to the Federal Court by the Applicant with cost of RM30,000.00 awarded to each Respondent (including IRIS) subject to allocator fee.
This announcement is dated 19 May 2023.

Reference is made to the Company's announcements dated 4 January 2022, 27 January 2022, 18 February 2022, 1 March 2022, 22 March 2022, 5 April 2022 and 5 May 2022 on the above matter.
Unless otherwise defined, the terms used herein shall have the same meanings as defined in the earlier announcements.
Further to the filing of S5’s Notice of Appeal dated 3 May 2022, S5 has written to the Court of Appeal to withdraw their appeal and a hearing date was fixed on 19 May 2023.
IRIS wishes to inform that at the hearing on 19 May 2023, S5 withdrew the appeal and the Court of Appeal awarded cost of RM2,000.00 to IRIS subject to allocator fee.
This announcement is dated 22 May 2023.

BLee: Quite true as one more year added to the contract; profit if any will be spread out further. I think that is the reason 80% of the contract/holder was encashed to raise $ for further project financing. Judging from the few good news recently, the sale of this 80% should go through.

Sorry, just stating the obvious: Since the gov extended the contract by 1 year, this not only means that the contract was correctly awarded but also the delay was reasonably for whatever the reason. It seems very reasonable the delay was due to various covid-related interruptions.

Previously the govt said will announce investigation into NIISE contract awarding allegations by end Apr? If the govt did not find any wrongdoing, they should issue an official statement on the conclusion. Did they?

The media been buzzing in on IRIS as of late. I could see why. KDN' approval of IRIS's reengagement in the NIISE contractual obligation will bring upsize of share gain for both IRIS and Tass Tech. I am keen to see how that would reflect to a gargantuan size gain in accord to its Share Price RFL in the coming weeks to months timeframe.
