Reason BH, SI & STAR are subsidiaries of STC. STC completed a selective capital reduction (SCR) on 24.4.2006 and reduced its issued capital by 30,503,000 shares resulting in increase in shareholding of Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Bhd (GELM) in STC from 14.76% to 16.15%. Consequently, GELM, its holding company Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd (GEL) and its ultimate holding company Great Eastern Holdings Limited (GEH) each is deemed to have an interest in the shareholding of STC's subsidiaries, BH, SI & STAR, in MSC. As GEH, GEL and GELM are subsidiaries of OCBC, OCBC is deemed to have an interest in the shareholding of STC's subsidiaries, BH, SI & STAR, in MSC by operation of section 6A(4)(c) of the Malaysia Companies Act 1965.
