Authorities have blamed the recent Cameron Highlands mudslide on rampant illegal land-clearing and occupation by undocumented foreign workers. This led to a mass crackdown last week, in which 181 illegal immigrants were held. The move has drawn the ire of migrant-rights NGO, Tenaganita, which conducted its own fact-finding mission to get behind the truth of matter.
BFM speaks to the director of Tenaganita, Aegile Fernandez, on the findings.

The roof of the incident after incident is not other than corruption ..approval letter , non action of local and land authority ( who dare to touch the untouchable ) .so the most easier scapegoat will be PATI , jail or send back .case close for the moment and history repeat again next year or next raining season...

Look for the guys who hired the foreign workers. Search them and most likely you'll find the yellow letters on them.

Why blame foreign workers?. Blame the authorities that approved the development on hillslopes. Then blame enforcement units for not going round to catch any individual that develops any empty lands without licenses. The foreign workers only brought in to helps certains industries in the area.
