The Malaysian government has announced the removal of liquid nicotine, used in electronic cigarettes and vapes, from the Poisons List of controlled substances. This decision effectively legalises e-cigarettes and vapes with nicotine without any regulations in place, and was done to enable taxation on e-liquids. So first, we talk about the pushback to this, and why activists are concerned. Then, we discuss how exactly we should be regulating these devices.
