I follow the smell of money.

These two weeks, I kept seeing news and articles about how Tony Fernandes and Aireen Omar quarreled with MAHB over a wide range of issues, from cleaning toilets to naming of KLIA2.

While I acknowledge that sometime you do need to stand firm to defense yourself, I don't think you should be too aggressive and combative. Renaming KLIA2 to LCCT might make sense, but is it really such a big deal that we need to shout and scream in the open ?

I call on Air Asia top brass to calm down and focus your attention on solving the many many issues still plaguing the group. If you really want to quarrel, please do it after Air Asia share price crosses RM3.50. I should have been out by then. You can have a war with MAHB if you want, I won't say a thing.

I find the insistence to use LCCT2 stupid. U can't have 2 unless u have 1 and the original LCCT is no longer used as an airport. So calling KLIA2 as LCCT2 is quite stupid because there's no longer any LCCT1 anymore.

I am trying to do some damage control here to prevent things from spiralling downward

I don't want to read one morning from newspaper that Tony Fernandez slapped Liow Tiong Lai in one of the meeting

the words low cost is fundamental to what AA do.............even though it is not the cheapest around.

Icon, i believe Tony did this for the good of AirAsia, and or course to the shareholders too.
Potential reason why Tony wanted KLIA2 to be renamed to LCCT2:
- MAHB is charging AA (the biggest user at KLIA2) at "KLIA2" rate but the service provided is at "LCCT2" or "sub-LCCT2" level.
- by changing the name to "LCCTs", Tony has the bargaining power to pressurize MAHB to reduce the airport service charges.
- Who will benefit from lower airport service charges? Definitely the shareholders and also AA customers.

Please really think this into a deeper picture and you will understand why Tony wanted the rename to happen.

If the rename is done, more cost savings can be achieved by AA, the share price may reach RM3.50 faster.. haha...

Yes, that Is exactly my message - I think his head become very big after his company do well recently. I hope he doesn't drag us all to holland with him by antagonizing powerful people

Icon, I don't see how Tony can send us to Holland other than flying us to Holland with his Airbus (but with air fare charged of course!!)

it has proven that my previous guess was correct... TF wanted to change the name to LCCT because he wants to bring down the airport service charge (or at least maintain the rate as Malaysia Airport wants to hike up the service charge!! shame on them, how dare for them to hike up the price given that the service is so below-par!)
