NEW YORK (Sept 27): Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he would bow out as prime minister before the next general election.
The 94-year-old Malaysian prime minister came into power for the second time following his Pakatan Harapan coalition's victory in the May 2018 general election.
“I promise that I would step down before the next election and give way to another candidate. So I may have at the most three years perhaps,” he said at a dialogue held at the Council on Foreign Relations here on Thursday.
During those three years, Dr Mahathir said that he needed to accomplish a few things.
He is in town for the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The prime minister said work was very tough now and that he was currently working 18 hours a day.
“This is because I don’t have much time,” said the Pakatan Harapan chairman who is renowned for being a hardworking individual.

Should know how to stop, what would be the world perception if PM age over 95 years old ??...is nobody capable to lead this country?? even how hard you try to prevent Anwar from leading this nation..you definitely wont have that strength and energy to prevent it from happening at the age of 95, or 98. You action, in fact will bring disaster when Pas got hands in running this nation with umno (again)..think about it la. enough is enough.
Let the nature runs it course, for future of malaysia in the hands of future generation.

end of this year..i will clear my position..coz there would be instability in malaysia politics due to mahathir refusal to honour his promise. DAP + amanah + anwar PKR would raise white flage... only BERSATU + splinter Azmin PKR MP will support mahathir, but no way PAS+ UMNO would back him up in Parliment.
PAS+UMNO would take that opportunity to table no-confidence vote against Mahathir..and Parlimen kena bubar.

TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN was visionary when he expelled this RACIST(TUN Mahatir) from UMNO. However, Razak being a racist himself, relisted him in UMNO. For 50 years, we have not "progressed".
