THE Pakatan Harapan (PH) government was toppled in 2020 after 22 months because of the belief that it was dominated by DAP and influenced by non-Malays to carry out policies detrimental to Malay and Muslim interests via perpetuation of lies that the “Malays and Islam are under threat”.

The campaign of lies, falsehoods, fake news and hate speech started with the speech of the then prime minister (PM) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September 2018 that Malaysia would ratify international human rights covenants, including the International Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).and Rome Statute.

There was a systematic campaign that the Cabinet was DAP-dominated and that the PM was a stooge and Gurkha of the DAP although DAP leaders inside and outside the Cabinet were completely ignorant of Dr Mahathir’s speech in the UNGA.

The situation was aggravated when a fireman Mohammad Adib Mohd Kassim from the Subang Jaya Emergency Response System (EMRS) unit died when deployed to the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya on November 27, 2018 to put out a vehicle fire and his death was propagandised in furtherance of racial and religious agendas.

Since then, the 2R issues of race and religion have stalked and divided Malaysia with lies, falsehoods, fake news and hate speech, undermining both political stability and national unity in a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural nation.

In five years, Malaysia had five PMs. Hence, it is hoped that 2024 should put the pages of division and disunity in Malaysia behind us.

Anyone insinuating that the government is dominated by the DAP should be required to produce proof or is guilty of abusing 2Rs of race and religion to install racial and religious animosities to create hate and disunity in Malaysia. - Jan 2, 2023

Retired DAP supremo Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang was Malaysia’s longest serving opposition leader of 29 years on three separate occasions.
