WHETHER he has indeed leveraged Chat-GPT - as claimed by some detractors - to craft his 12-liner poem addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi or not, the very fact that PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had attempted to convey his thoughts in English is indeed praiseworthy.

What is unpleasant though is that the Pasir Mas MP is somehow unpatriotic for utilising his poetic licence to run down his political enemy Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who had earlier completed his three-day official visit to India - his first since assumed office in November 2022.

What could be despicable is that Fadhli has poked fun at Anwar-Modi’s so-called “hugging, holding hands” diplomacy which has pretty much sent many Pakatan Harapan (PH) backers over the moon by reminding the decade-long Indian PM that the Malaysian guest that he had hosted (or hugged) is both a “tyrant” and “killer”.

For his effort, Fadhli received his fair share of ‘praises’ and trolling on his Facebook page.

While one commenter suggested that former PAS Youth chief could have scored an “A1” for English in his SPM examination, another doubted that he really “wrote” the poem given “walaun (slang for PAS members) can’t even debate properly in the Parliament”.

Another commenter remarked that he is always impressed when reading Fadhli’s social media posts while “making it material to gauge the thinking style of PAS/PN (Perikatan Nasional) leaders”.

While one commenter described him as being a “busybody” for interfering in the affairs of heads of states, another wondered why Fadhli has yet to post on “the PN chairman (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin)’s act of treachery” when the former prime minister had criticised the Pahang ruler and former Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah in his Nenggiri election speech. - Aug 22, 2024
