KUALA LUMPUR: A Pahang Umno Youth delegate has urged the party's top leadership to confirm the existence of the alleged Addendum Order granting house arrest to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Pahang Umno Youth secretary, Mohd Azly Norzan, said the legitimacy of the alleged order remains unresolved and continues to raise questions.

"Does the Addendum Order for house arrest exist? If it does, then say so, but if it doesn't, then just say that it doesn't exist.

"Pahang Youth is ready to continue the struggle regarding the Addendum Order as this does not only concern Najib but also involves a violation of the Rukun Negara.

"It is a serious issue if the decree made by the (former) Yang di-Pertuan Agong is being disregarded and if not addressed, it could set a precedent that might be referred to by any King or the Malay rulers," he said during a debate on the Umno Youth Chief's policy speech today.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed the existence of an alleged Addendum Order from the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong allowing Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

The Umno president claimed the impugned document was shown to him by former Selangor Umno treasurer Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz at his house near Country Heights on Jan 30.

On Jan 29, Najib, the former Pekan member of parliament, applied to compel the government to produce the impugned document, which he said had not been revealed by the authorities.

He named the Home Minister, the Commissioner General of the Prison Department, the Attorney-General (AG), the Federal Territories Pardons Board, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform), the Director-General of the Legal Affairs Division and the government as respondents.

Following this, Mohd Azaly urged the party's top leadership to answer on whether the order shown to Ahmad Zahid was valid or otherwise.

"Hence, I urge the top leadership of the wing to bring the motion put forth by Pahang Umno Youth and ensure that the questions are being answered (by the party's top leadership)."

Najib, who is serving his sentence in Kajang Prison, was initially given a 12-year prison sentence and fined RM120 million after being found guilty in his corruption case involving RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd.

However, the Federal Territories Pardons Board, chaired by the then King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, reduced this to six years' imprisonment and a fine of RM50 million.

Najib subsequently filed an appeal to serve out the remainder of his six-year jail sentence under house arrest.

The notice of appeal was filed on July 9, and the Court of Appeal had set Oct 7 for case management.
