KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry (MoH) pledges to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its ongoing investigation involving three senior doctors accused of links to a cartel falsifying disability claims.

In a statement today, the ministry acknowledged the recent arrests of the three doctors allegedly involved in fake disability claims with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) in Penang.

The MoH reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for abuse of power by its personnel and assured that it would take swift action to uphold the highest standards in public health services.

"The MoH remains committed to ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our public health services. We will not tolerate misconduct and will take steps to maintain the quality of our services," the statement read.

The ministry emphasised its seriousness in addressing issues of integrity within the health sector.

Yesterday, it was reported that three senior doctors were among those arrested in a major swoop by the MACC over their alleged involvement in a cartel falsifying Socso disability claims.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said two of the doctors were from government hospitals, while the third was from a private hospital. They were among the 32 arrested in connection with the case. More arrests are expected in the coming days.
