China Indirectly Hits the Tech Giants with Energy Crunch

Seems like its gonna be a whole month of headlines regarding China.

Further to the Evergrande saga causing a great wipeout recently, (can read here)

 

 

China initiates ENERGY CRUNCH program. 

In view of oncoming winter olympics in Beijing that will be happening on next February, President Xi wants the sky to be blue and shows the public on China's seriousness on de-carbonization. 

 

Besides manufacturing industries such as aluminium smelters, textiles producers and soybean processing plants, the mainly affected ones are factories at Zhejiang, Jiang Su and Guangzhou.

 

Some Highlights:

Iphone assemblers PEGATRON and FOXCONN has suspended some of their operations in the Apple assembly hub in Zhengzhou due to the energy crunch in China.

 

Chip packaging and testing service providers, supplying to Nvidia, Intel and Qualcomm also received notice to suspend operations.

 

Automotive assembly for brands like Tesla are also affected. Some factories faced closure from 26 Sep until the end of month.
