The FBM KLCI (-0.01%) recouped most of its losses and ended flat after the BNM performed a surprise hike on the OPR by 25 bps to 3.00%, it has lifted some of the banking stocks after 3pm. Market breadth was negative with the losers outnumbered the gainers by 553-to-277 stocks. The broader market ended mostly in the negative territory, but the Plantation (+0.50%), REIT (+0.21%) and Utilities (+0.30%) sectors managed to buck the overall trend. For the plantation sector, KLK was the leader with 86.0 sen gains, while under the utilities sector, RANHILL added 2.5 sen for the session.
