Hi Guys,

I have An Investment Approach I which I would like to all.

Dear Friends in i3 Forum

GOD made the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. So today let's take a rest from stocks & learn some spiritual teachings from the Bible. Here a 4 translations from the Hebrew. My favourite is from King James Bible

Here you go:

Proverbs 15 King James Version (KJV) AD 1,611

15 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 15 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Contrast the Upright and the Wicked

15 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a a]harsh word stirs up anger.
The tongue of the wise makes knowledge b]acceptable,
But the mouth of fools spouts folly.
The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Watching the evil and the good.
c]soothing tongue is a tree of life,
But perversion in it d]crushes the spirit.
A fool e]rejects his father’s discipline,
But he who regards reproof is sensible.
Great wealth is in the house of the righteous,
But trouble is in the income of the wicked.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
But the hearts of fools are not so.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves one who pursues righteousness.
10 Grievous punishment is for him who forsakes the way;
He who hates reproof will die.
11 f]Sheol and g]Abaddon lie open before the Lord,
How much more the hearts of h]men!
12 A scoffer does not love one who reproves him,
He will not go to the wise.
13 A joyful heart makes a i]cheerful face,
But j]when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.
14 The mind of the intelligent seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on folly.
15 All the days of the afflicted are bad,
But a k]cheerful heart has a continual feast.
16 Better is a little with the l]fear of the Lord
Than great treasure and turmoil with it.
17 Better is a m]dish of n]vegetables where love is
Than a fattened ox served with hatred.
18 A hot-tempered man stirs up strife,
But the slow to anger calms a dispute.
19 The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns,
But the path of the upright is a highway.
20 A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.
21 Folly is joy to him who lacks o]sense,
But a man of understanding walks straight.
22 Without consultation, plans are frustrated,
But with many counselors they p]succeed.
23 A man has joy in an q]apt answer,
And how delightful is a timely word!
24 The path of life leads upward for the wise
That he may keep away from r]Sheol below.
25 The Lord will tear down the house of the proud,
But He will establish the boundary of the widow.
26 Evil plans are an abomination to the Lord,
But pleasant words are pure.
27 He who profits illicitly troubles his own house,
But he who hates bribes will live.
28 The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer,
But the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked,
But He hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 s]Bright eyes gladden the heart;
Good news puts fat on the bones.
31 He whose ear listens to the life-giving reproof
Will dwell among the wise.
32 He who neglects discipline despises himself,
But he who listens to reproof acquires t]understanding.
33 The u]fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.

PROVERBS 15 From THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE.

Contrast the Upright and the Wicked

11 A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath,
But harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise speaks knowledge that is pleasing and acceptable,
But the [babbling] mouth of fools spouts folly.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Watching the evil and the good [in all their endeavors].

A soothing tongue [speaking words that build up and encourage] is a tree of life,
But a perversive tongue [speaking words that overwhelm and depress] crushes the spirit.

A [flippant, arrogant] fool rejects his father’s instruction andcorrection,
But he who [is willing to learn and] regards and keeps in mind a reprimand acquires good sense.

Great and priceless treasure is in the house of the [consistently] righteous one [who seeks godly instruction and grows in wisdom],
But trouble is in the income of the wicked one [who rejects the laws of God].

The lips of the wise spread knowledge [sifting it as chaff from the grain];
But the hearts of [shortsighted] fools are not so.

The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful and exceedingly offensive to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight!

The way [of life] of the wicked is hateful and exceedingly offensive to the Lord,
But He loves one who pursues righteousness [personal integrity, moral courage and honorable character].
10
There is severe discipline for him who a]turns from the way [of righteousness];
And he who hates correction will die.
11
Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) and Abaddon (the abyss, the place of eternal punishment) lie open before the Lord
How much more the hearts and inner motives of the children of men.
12
A scoffer [unlike a wise man] resents one who rebukes him andtries to teach him;
Nor will he go to the wise [for counsel and instruction].
13
A heart full of joy and goodness makes a cheerful face,
But when a heart is full of sadness the spirit is crushed.
14
The mind of the intelligent and discerning seeks knowledge and eagerly inquires after it,
But the mouth of the [stubborn] fool feeds on foolishness.
15
All the days of the afflicted are bad,
But a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of the circumstances].
16
Better is a little with the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord
Than great treasure and trouble with it.
17
Better is a dinner of vegetables and herbs where love is present
Than a fattened ox served with hatred.
18
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife,
But he who is slow to anger and patient calms disputes.
19
The way of the lazy is like a hedge of thorns [it pricks, lacerates, and entangles him],
But the way [of life] of the upright is smooth and open like a highway.
20
A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish man despises his mother.
21
Foolishness is joy to him who is without heart and lacks [intelligent, common] sense,
But a man of understanding walks uprightly [making his course straight].
22
Without consultation and wise advice, plans are frustrated,
But with many counselors they are established and succeed.
23
A man has joy in giving an appropriate answer,
And how good and delightful is a word spoken at the right moment—how good it is!
24
The [chosen] path of life leads upward for the wise,
That he may keep away from Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) below.
25
The Lord will tear down the house of the proud and arrogant (self-righteous),
But He will establish and protect the boundaries [of the land] of the [godly] widow.
26
Evil plans and thoughts of the wicked are exceedingly vile andoffensive to the Lord,
But pure words are pleasant words to Him.
27
He who profits unlawfully brings suffering to his own house,
But he who hates bribes [and does not receive nor pay them] will live.
28
The heart of the righteous thinks carefully about how to answer [in a wise and appropriate and timely way],
But the [babbling] mouth of the wicked pours out malevolent things.
29
The Lord is far from the wicked [and distances Himself from them],
But He hears the prayer of the [consistently] righteous [that is, those with spiritual integrity and moral courage].
30
The light of the eyes rejoices the hearts of others,
And good news puts fat on the bones.
31
The ear that listens to and learns from the life-giving rebuke (reprimand, censure)
Will remain among the wise.
32
He who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself,
But he who learns from rebuke acquires understanding [and grows in wisdom].
33
The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the instruction for wisdom [its starting point and its essence];
And before honor comes humility.

Proverbs 15 (GNB or Good News Bible). This one in simple English. A gentle answer quietens anger, but a harsh one stirs it up.

2When wise people speak, they make knowledge attractive, but stupid people spout nonsense.
3The LORD sees what happens everywhere; he is watching us, whether we do good or evil.
4Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit.
5It is foolish to ignore what your father taught you; it is wise to accept his correction.
6Righteous people keep their wealth, but the wicked lose theirs when hard times come.
7Knowledge is spread by people who are wise, not by fools.
8The LORD is pleased when good people pray, but hates the sacrifices that the wicked bring him.
9The LORD hates the ways of evil people, but loves those who do what is right.
10If you do what is wrong, you will be severely punished; you will die if you do not let yourself be corrected.
11Not even the world of the dead can keep the LORD from knowing what is there; how then can people hide their thoughts from God?
12Conceited people do not like to be corrected; they never ask for advice from those who are wiser.
13When people are happy, they smile, but when they are sad, they look depressed.
14Intelligent people want to learn, but stupid people are satisfied with ignorance.
15The life of the poor is a constant struggle, but happy people always enjoy life.
16Better to be poor and fear the LORD than to be rich and in trouble.
17Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate.
18Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.
19If you are lazy, you will meet difficulty everywhere, but if you are honest, you will have no trouble.
20Wise children make their fathers happy. Only fools despise their mothers.
21Stupid people are happy with their foolishness, but the wise will do what is right.
22Get all the advice you can, and you will succeed; without it you will fail.
23What a joy it is to find just the right word for the right occasion!
24Wise people walk the road that leads upwards to life, not the road that leads downwards to death.
25The LORD will destroy the homes of arrogant men, but he will protect a widow's property.
26The LORD hates evil thoughts, but he is pleased with friendly words.
27If you try to make a profit dishonestly, you will get your family into trouble. Don't take bribes and you will live longer.
28Good people think before they answer. Evil people have a quick reply, but it causes trouble.
29When good people pray, the LORD listens, but he ignores those who are evil.
30Smiling faces make you happy, and good news makes you feel better.
31If you pay attention when you are corrected, you are wise.
32If you refuse to learn, you are hurting yourself. If you accept correction, you will become wiser.
33Reverence for the LORD is an education in itself. You must be humble before you can ever receive honours.

Calvin comments:

King James Bible was written in year 1611 AD over 400 years ago.

So the language is in old English.

Examples are

doeth

useth

hateth

forsaketh

just replace the th with s

As

Othman is also same as Osman

Othman is old Malay name and Osman is a more modern one.

For

unto just drop the un in front. It should be "to" in stead

For Mui Bhd

The sale of any London Hotel will unlock its value for Cash distribution.

Last time Pm Corp distributed 8 sen cash payout after selling Woodland factory in Singapore.

This pattern of asset sale to distribute cash also found in Comcorp. It gave out 45 sen cash.

Rev after selling its business to Media also distributed cash.

Next will be Dutaland after oil palm plantation sale will give out a 10 sen dividend.

So for Mui Bhd it will follow in the same pattern

Jon Choivo Calvin, to be fair, DRB is far from turnaround. Minus out one off disposal income.

They are still making massive losses.
23/04/2018 16:27

Calvin replies:

1) I bought DRB at 92 sen with NTA over Rm3.00 due to its margin of safety.

2) Drb by virtue of it being a Govt Related Stock was targeted for turnaround. So for POS Alibaba was told to start E Commerce JV with POS

3) To turnaround Proton Geely was roped in.

The ground works are well laid out. How they perform all depend of their future business success and prospects.

As price has risen to a high of Rm2.70 (near to NTA of Rm3.00) DRB is no longer in my investment radar.

So I sold and took profit & rotate into other laggard stocks like Mrcb, TA Enterprize & others with better potential

As for TA

It has Deep Latent Value

Its Growth has been overshadowed by its heavy Assets invested in TAGB. Minus TAGB & its liabilities you will get a clearer picture of TA prospects
