Dear Friends of i3 Forum and Whoever Out There in This World
Today we shall highlight ESG or Force Labour against Malaysia Palm oil especially Simedarby Plant by USA
The news of 7 Malaysia Glove Co banned by USA were filled by Cheaper Gloves from China.
Now USA has moved to ban Malaysian Palm oil due to "Force Labour" Issue.
There is a world of difference between contract workers recruited from Bangladesh & Nepal who had to pay high agent fees in Comparison to Most INDONESIAN Palm oil Workers migrating to Willingly to work in Malaysia - Legally & illegally for better wages.
Indonesia workers in Indonesia Palm oil Estates get about Rm600 wages per month. For the same job in Malaysia they get from Rm900 to Rm1,500 or 50% to 150% pay.
That is the MAIN REASON WHY INDON PALM OIL HARVESTERS CHOSE TO WORK IN MALAYSIA FOR BETTER PAY & PROSPECTS OUT OF OWN FREE WILL AND FREE CHOICE (DEFINITELY NOT BY "FORCE LABOUR)
See the defition of "FORCE LABOUR"
Forced labour, or unfree labour, is any work relation, especially in modern or early modern history, in which people are employed against their will with the threat of destitution, detention, violence including death, or other forms of extreme hardship to either themselves or members of their families.[note 1]
Unfree labour includes all forms of slavery, penal labour and the corresponding institutions, such as debt slavery, serfdom, corvée and labour camps.

Ask any Indonesia labourer now in any Oil Palm estates if they are employed "AGAINST THEIR WILL?"
Far from it. With Very High Cpo prices with the lack of hard working workers these Indon Palm oil Fruit Harvesters are now "TREATED LIKE KINGS"
The very life & soul of the Palm oil Industry DEPENDS ON THEM. Without which Billions & Billions of $$$ will be lost
And how did the Indon Labourers come?
See
JAKARTA: It was pitch-dark when 28-year-old Andika Pramono and 33 other Indonesians waited at the shore in Tanjung Tiram, North Sumatra in the wee hours of Monday (Feb 7).
They were waiting for a specific instruction, one they believed would lead them closer to their dreams of working in Malaysia for higher pay. (DEFINITELY NOT BY FORCE AGAINST THEIR WILL.
THEY COME LEGALLY OR ILLEGALLY OUT OF "FREE WILL"
SO THERE IS STRICTLY "NO VIOLATION OF ESG OR "FORCE LABOUR" AT ALL
WHY DO THEY COME?
ANSWER: When interviewed by CNA, those in the group said that better-paying jobs as well as COVID-19 disruptions
They were waiting for a specific instruction, one they believed would lead them closer to their dreams of working in Malaysia for higher pay
NIKE HAS DONE MANY TIMES WORST THAN SIMEDARBY PLANT AND USA SHOULD BAN NIKE SHOES INSTEAD (WHY DOUBLE STANDARD?)
Western brands need stronger audits of factories on the mainland
“Millions of Uyghurs are currently detained, sold and assigned to work at forced-labor camps, prisons and factories across the country. They are under constant surveillance, with long working hours and poor living conditions.” He continued, “Don’t forget, every time you put those shoes on your feet, or you put that T-shirt on your back, there are so many tears and so much oppression and so much blood behind it all.”
