A degree of Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Kingston University, United Kingdom in 1978. He currently serves as a member of the Malaysian Business Council, Malaysian Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), Malaysian Industry Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Commonwealth Partnership for Technology Management (CPTM), The Capital Markets Advisory Council, The Nature Conservancy Asia Pacific Council and the Asia Business Council and also the Trustee of the Asia Society.

Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Francis Yeoh was appointed to the Board of YTL Power International Berhad on 18 October 1996 as an Executive Director and has been the Managing Director since then. He became the Managing Director for YTL Group in 1988.
