True, i think this NTA is very well backed. Unless north korea bomb KL with chemical warfare.

Zhangliang, lets not bs here.

The article was made in January 7, it started shooting up january 25.

You think this kind of stock only tradeview know how to find is it? How many companies are there with 5 year continuous increase in revenue, profit and trades below NTA. A simple screener will show you. The difference is this one is very illiquid,

If he was a value investor, he'd just shut up and start collecting as much as possible, but he's not, he's a subscriber investor. Build up your position in a good company first, then announce to your 1k subscriber. Since its a good company, your subscriber will buy it and send the price up.

Tradeview is at best a punter, who uses his subscribers to make the market more "efficient" for him, and lets face it, considering the companies, even if you enter late, its not too bad, just a little unrealized loss in a great company.

Value investors earn money from the growth of the company and dividends, tradeview earns money in a zerosum game, where he takes money from his subscribers, when they buy in,.

If im honest, id rather, airasia, take all the proceeds for AAC sale and clear debts. All the dividend announcement going to do is give unnecessary movement to the stock, giving me unneeded emotional turmoil.

I'd rather they clear the debts and grow the company even faster, dominate south east asia sooner. For comparison, Airasia only has 77 planes. The Big 4 airlines in the USA have American (339), Southwest (101), (United) 342,Delta (322) planes EACH. And they mainly fly local for a 320 million citizen country. Thats 1.1k planes serving a 320million country (Albeit one with high buying power).

South east asia have 632 million citizen with per capita of 4k USD, USA got percapita income of 54K USD. Even with this very very simplistic estimate that does not take into account that income here grows alot faster, or that fares here are much cheaper or that certain countries have very high percapita like singapore and is more well balanced in terms of economic iniquity,

This will give a prorated capacity of 163 planes needed to be mature, assuming zero growth. (1100 /320m citizen * 640M citizen/54k*4k).

Airasia needs to more than double in size before you can even consider the needs being met. Especially once Thailand, Vietnam Cambodia etc citizens start travelling (and they will)

But until they reach that size, dont expect dividend.

Airasia is this kind of company, you will make a little, loss a little, make a little lose a little, and suddenly,a few years later, when the market hits saturation, you will make a lot. The key is, to sell abit at high, and buy abit at low. Or if you're lazy, just buy more at low.

Like calvin says, although he mis-phrases. The problem with this Airasia and AAX is that they have a lot of future capital commitments (NOT DEBT as calvin puts), worse case if they let go, they forfeit the deposits. But realistically, that's not much.

What this means is this, Airasia and AAX is currently at the early age of airlines for south east asia, it still has a lot of room to grow and will require alot of capital to grow, which means as an investor, you cannot hope for dividend, but the fact that the company will get bigger and bigger over time and make more money, which will be used to grow the company again.

But if you hold it, for say 5-10 years, you will be holding onto the company with a vice grip on aviation in south east asia. The airline orders they have doubles up as a moat, their planes are cheaper and more flexible, the future growth will not be impeded due to lack of planes.

And capacity wise, i dont think that's the problem. GEN Y these days, got off day, straight fly to bangkok lah, taiwan lah, phuket lah for holiday.

If im real with you, malindo and scoot is not even competition right now. They have no real competition when it comes to budget airlines in SEA.

How to bankrupt?

It has 100mil in cash, 100k in debt. Just the cash and the inventory alone is worth more than 16 sen. Its like paying RM 1 for Rm1.01 and they give you a free chocolate business as well.

Loss is due to impairment by an associate company. Well, hell if i care. The stock price is below the cash and inventory. Anything else is extra.

Stockmanmy,

You can talk a lot, but remember its only febuary =) 10 months to go.

OTB was down 20-30% around this time last year, he closed up 20% at the end of the year.

For an "Experienced" investor, you seem to talk like a newbie.

I like how you call yourself a value investor, and yet you set cut loss prices.

It did not go up after a long consolidation, but rather because you tell your 1k subscribers. Damn sien, wanted to buy more but you go spoil market d.

Lets not bs each other, you're not a value investor, but a subscriber investor. Find a company that is half decent, buy it and recommend to your 1k subscribers.

I'm not sure as well, but the drop is mainly due to the 16.9mil write back in the previous year, if you adjust that out in the previous year and compare, result is still ok.

I think mycron is fine, no such outstanding amounts in the previous year quarter.

If we take into account the writeback, it should be net profit should 23,090,000. Which is quite close. But still down.

Guess people here did not take that writeback into account. Thank god i didnt sai lang. Can hold longer.

calvintaneng if u not confidence and dont like this counter can stay out, dont spoil it,hibiscus future is great, long term better, dont be short term...

Lets be real, if you are a long term buyer, you wont even be commenting here, and you wont care what calvin say. Because long term, if the company is good, calvin's comments dont matter.

But you care about his comments, because you are a short term player, and you want only positive comments so that this share will shoot up and let you unload.

Its a great business. Just know that you can't expect higher profit in for 2016 and 2017 year ends. Cause their tax allowance is finished and environment is not so good. This one, you must be willing to hold for 1-2 years if you buy now.

Stockraider, warren buffet is long term, but he's also short term. If you really look at his trading patterns, he got quite a few short term bets one.

Warren buffet sailang, also i dont think he throw more than 30% of his company total next worth into another company. None of his stock or companies held is worth more than 15% of berkshire.

I made a bucket sailang on airasia at 0.9, and sold at 2.6, before it went up to 3.3. 100% plus full margin, all bought in 1 day. I would never sailang again. I was beyond lucky, it shoot up the next day and kept doing so for a year. If it go down the next day, i can really cry d.

You're right, when you find that right situation, you must be ready to throw a large amount at it. But for safety,it is 10-15% (max and cash), 30% if its really fucking extraordinary.

Look at valaent. Great (back then) company, many people hold a lot there, 94 to 27 dollar in a month. Its now USD14 per share.

You can only sailang, when its, you buying the whole company and can look at the entire books, front, back, right, centre. Or its really too fucking cheap. Like airasia then. I was beyond confident then, but i would never do it again.

My advice, 3-5% each company, if you think its better, 7-10%. You dont have perfect information. And there is 800-900 companies in Bursa, dont tell me you cannot find 10-20 worth investing in.

Icon8888, why sell airasia? I think that stock can hold for a long time.

My generation is the most well traveled generation of all time. These days all the people at my generation all start working, all got money, all "wanderlust" lah, facebook feed all is people travel or wanting to travel.

I think Airasia is the most well placed to take advantage of this.

You're probably sick of the stock, seeing it go from 2.8 to 2.15 to 2.6. But id just hold till an over pricing happens.

Purchase of PPE. Much higher receivables. Higher Inventory. Dividend payout.

Stock

2017-02-07 19:46 | Report Abuse

I meant "previous year quarter did not do well, due to gain from deferred tax (Padding the profit)."

Its a matter of semantics, but i can see how one can get confused.

Could be tax rate go up, or more likely than not, additional PPE purchases or WIP recognized early. This will throw in more deferred tax since there is a 10-20% initial allowance for the tax base if im not mistaken.

Either way, tax is 25% since 2009 and drops to 24% in 2016. It should not affect.

My point still stands, operationally, they will be in a for a struggle. Id buy a little after each quarter and average down. Before the big jump comes in 2018.

Stock

2017-02-07 19:13 | Report Abuse

Your're delusional. Its deferred tax.

If one goes by that logic, one could say that previous year quarter did not do well, due to gain from deferred tax.

What is important is the operational aspect of the company, not whether deferred tax go up or down.

Performance is not good at all. But I'm happy, if it crashes, ill be there to pick it up monday. Its still a good company.
