bwho, it is usual for Management to play safe to issue neutral statement. Measure management quality by the track record in profitability.

FFB yield pattern never the same every year . It shift because of many factors including weather. Don't have to be overly concerned output m-o-m or corresponding month of previous year. Monitor production over quarterly total or half yearly total. People in the industry don't expect more than +|- 5% swing in production unless there is serious management issue.

Timber business drag down profitability of the company. This been the case for many qtrs in the past . Without timber, the company is min better shape and worth a lot more . I just wonder why the management allow this timber pain to linger for so long . I have no complain at all about the palm oil business but very sore on Management's indecisiveness on the loss mm along timber section . With State government restriction on logging activity and production, there is no future in the timber business.

I guess you have to pay much higher price once the toll turn profitable. It's a question to buy it very cheap now or to pay much higher price when profit is visible. The choice is yours . Don't forget WCE also own 40% of the 1,800 acres Rimbayu development managed by IJM. It's a valuable?assets at very low cost in the book. It also provide steady income over long period of tines .

Below expected 4th Q results is due to $30+ million loss in derivatives. I think SOP sold at lower price in the future market and unexpectedly CPO climbed higher . Sop has to book the loss which is the price difference . It’s an accounting entries . Next qtr result will be much better ..

Seem that bstead is Slowly but surely coming back .

Since buy orders are high today , it’s the time to sell now for whoever not willing to wait .

MNRB ‘s prospective PE of 5x only is unbelievable even if dividend yield is low relative to profit level.

This is only 9 months results. There is still hope for final dividend.

The government and LTAT will have to make Bstead good . It’s just a matter of time .

There are 2 taxes on CPO.
1. Export tax of max 8% which is applicable now at today’s CPO price level.
2. Windfall tax of 3% for WM planters above price threshold of $2,500 and 1.5% for EM above threshold of $3,000. There is a formula for calculation published .
At today’s CPO $4,000, the export tax is $296 pmt , windfall tax is about $225 pmt. Total taxes are therefore $521 pmt. This leave the planters with ($4,0000 - 521) $3479 pmt . Production cost is $1,500-$2,000 depending on the efficiency of the planters . Gross profit is huge !
These 2 taxes are nothing new and have been around for many many years.

Per financial report 31/12/20, MPHB net asset per share increase from $1.90 to $2.60 . This is due to the lapse of put option liability of $400+ million which is now an asset. Cash + investment securities has gone sky high of over $1 bil. Solid balance sheet . Hopefully the sales for remaining 51% of the insurance business can be completed soon and that the Board will reward the patience of the shareholders with handsome special dividend.

Still manage to make about 2 sen /share of profit for FY 2020 despite extremely challenging environment in Europe due to covid. When situation normalize, good chance to see better performance.

The problem with Cypark is inconsistent dividend. Due to heavy capital outlay required , dividend for near future is therefore a question. Without promising dividend, investors are not keen to buy . It therefore only attract traders who are very quick to realize profit whenever the price move up . As such, hard for it to sustain any price uptrend.

May break $2/- soon due to bearish mood. Higher oil price and hence Naptha is negative for the company.

Flying Fox, you must understand the nature of its business first. The losses are from recognizing the interest as expense and amortization of the completed section of the highway. WCE highway will soon be completed and once toll collection for the whole stretch kicks in , the company’s outlook greatly changed. 50+10 years of toll collection from one of the major highways is no small matter.

Hope Choivo capital can comment on its results for qtr ending 31/12/20 which has just been released.

I think the cost of the 2 major shareholders namely mWE and United frontier is about $0.80-0.90 after considering the RI dilution and some holding cost .

May be a privatization exercise on the card .

Sales of insurance completed and follow by big dividend payout?

It has a dividend policy of minimum 60% payout. For many years, the management comply.
Estimated EPS FY 2020 is 12 -14 sen. Expect dividend is then is 7-8 sen..
In 2011 where avg CPO was $3,400, it earned about 32 sen and paid 20 sen dividend. FY2021 shall be a repeat of 2011. Controlling shareholders have sold down enough to meet the 25% public spread.

Earned $0.22 per share for FY2020. PE is merely 10x. At a very fair PE of 15x, price should be $3.30. Dividend paid $0.10 and expect a final $0.05? Good DY.
The best will come in FY2021. EPS May reach $0.35 due to expected improving production and higher CPO price . At PE 15x, it should fetch over $5/- . Dividend will go higher too.
The big plantations companies are trading at PE of 25-35x. Why should there be so huge discounts for the mid and small plantations??

I don’t know if the flood is affecting SOP. If there is , it only involve very small area of the lowlying estate. SOP is big enough to weather the impact if any of their estate is affected. Don’t let this insignificant event worry you to much and you will overlook the robust earning arising from very high CPO price today.

Current CPO bull is still at the early phase is expected to last for another 24-36 months . Plantation counters are very much lag behind this development as investors are not convinced without seeing a couple qtrs of good profit. The IBs are not convinced too as they are still talking about average CPO of $2,500-2,700/-! To me, the IBs are very ignorant about CPO prospect. The IBs have their own agenda !

I am am still accumulating when it dips. Bought some at $0.835 and $0.84 today.

Agriculture commodities bull run is gaining traction and will show up in the next few qtrs results. It’s a global development like we had experienced in 2011-2012 . Ample liquidity, very low interest rates, pent up demand from covid recovery , low inventory level and unfavorable climate are all perfect ingredients for a super bull in agriculture commodities.

If there is dividend accompanying the final qtr result this counter will attract a lot more attention.

The Contrarian, don’t sell too fast even it reaches $1. I am still collecting today .

Gas and coal are used for power generation. TNB profitability may be adversely affected by surging commodity prices??

FFB production is always lower in 4th qtr and 1st qtr of the year due to seasonal factor . Nothing to be alarm of this physiological part of oil palm . Yield for full year can swing 5-8% due to climatic factors like rainfall, sunshine etc . Other factors that may affect production are largely within management control . As such, it is not FFB production that we should be too overly concerned. The focus should be CPO price . At today's price of $3,700-3,900, the impact of any drop in annual production is easily offset and the planters are still laughing to the banks !

Already stated in 3qtr 2020 financial report that the put option expired . It means Generali lost the right to demand MPHB to buy back the 49% sold 5 -6 years ago. Therefore, the sales for another up to 51% will go thru just a matter of price ?

I doubt the IBs know much about agriculture and lack of professionalism in their reporting. They are still forecasting average CPO for 2021 at $2,500-2,600! Unbelievable!

Apart from bstead , LTAT at company level has other non equity investment , though smaller portion, may be able to generate some income to keep some 2% dividend to members. Without dividend from equity investment portion , especially from bstead bhd, LTAT can’t afford to pay higher dividend. Are members happy to continue receiving 2% which is lower the EPF?

Why is the company keeping total silent on the insurance disposal after securing approval from central bank ?? Must at least give interim update lah!

Government has no money to implement big infrastructure project. Infrastructure companies will struggle for a couple of years. Higher construction materials cost, higher labour cost , labour shortage and lower productivity during pandemic will further add stress to P&L.

BousteadInvestor, you may have asked for the wrong advice. Hahaha... I think it can not continue to stay undervalued for too long. LTAT has no reserve in its book. I am still holding my shares and nimble buy some as it drop .

I am not surprised if parent company decides to take it private in near future. You never know.
