Are you sure the penalty is imposed on the fund already paid ie. to certain stage of the project. Could the penalty be based on the overall project sum.
2018-09-17 19:32 | Report Abuse
What is the penalty cost ? is it worth paying for nothing. What about our trade, highest in 2017, will this affected ? Really is a short term gain and long term pain....

Like what i have said, equal partners is better than self autonomy. I believe by definition you know what is self autonomy... not need to pay tax, own education system, etc. You know in Sarawak and Sabah, prices of goods, cars, etc. are expensive than W.Malaysia. Why? freight charges as Sarawak/Sabah are not allowed to import direct. I also believe if Sarawak/Sabah can exploit their own resources, they are very rich now.

1. Penalty of about half of the construction cost and must be paid in 3 months' times. Paying for nothing. Is that what you called saving cost.
2. How do know it is running at big losses. Some expert's views are in favour of ECRL (from Japan).
2018-09-17 09:55 | Report Abuse
Mr Chinaman, I don't agree with you. Do you know that the cancellation of ECRL bears a penalty of about half the construction cost (according to certain source) which is about 20b. Do you know that the good economics effects spurred from the constructed ECRL. Do you know that in country like Africa, China has written off the loan. All this depends on how we handle the case.

Let's hope Datuk Seri Anwar can succeed TDM to become PM after 2 years times. Also, let's hope he can bring some economics reforms to Malaysia out from the presence messy scenario.

Wait another 60 years, all the resources of oil have already been depleted. What is the use of equal partner for Sarawak and Sabah. By right equal partner is more power than self autonomy.

I think PD move by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is wise in light of the PKR's manisfesto stated that he will be PM after 2 years times. Don't you think that there will not have any changes during this 2 years and the present PM is 93 years old. Can DSAI become a PM if he is even not a MP. Furthermore, it is time for him to warm up and on standby mode.
2018-09-13 07:22 | Report Abuse
Is nothing wrong to go for by-election. After all he just act accordingly to the PKR manisfesto whereby he will be PM after 2 years times. Don't you think there would not have any changes during this 2 years and the presence PM is already 93 years old. Can you become PM if you are not even a MP. As regards to the monies used in the by election, i opine it is just a tiny sand of the sea. Note: solely my own opinion only on without prejudice.

Rice already cooked, how? Foreigners to build/invest housing here must have the consent of the Government through proper procedures. Will this agreement being not recognised ? It is just like buy and sell deal is mutually agreed. Now different language.

I don't see any sense at all if foreigners purchase houses at forest city, we will live in wooden houses. Any Malaysian can buy the house if can afford it. Looking from another angle, assuming the forest city was not constructed at all, will some Malaysians not living in wooden houses. As regards to PR (not to say citizenship) why our country have to grant them. All the terms and conditions are already spelled out in the Agreement when they bought the house. There is nothing free in the world or Santa Clause. If we are dealing this matter not in accordance with the Agreement, then we will lost our credibility and trusts to the foreign investors.

Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/08/22/wee-stopping-rail-construction-may-affect-ties-with-china/#6m2V7Dhp1crfEqwq.99" I am not the supporter of or siding BN but I only support realistic comments.
2018-08-22 05:44 | Report Abuse
To be realistic, how can China support us if we don't support ECRL which falls under one belt one road. I opine we should go ahead with ECRL and the only crucial agenda is to renegotiate on the pricing and mode of payment(deferred loan payment schedule). Moreover, the completed ECRL can lower the cost of transportation which is in favour of our palm oil and durian and to a certain extent Tourism. So, our income from these source will be affected. I wonder where is our source of income to pay our huge debt. Can we depend on 3rd national car as a source of income which was a failure in the past. The main income now is oil which depends very much on international pricing.(Note: solely my opinion only without prejudice to any party)

ECRL ...... HSR........Palm oil......and others. I opine China will see our stand on ERCL which falls under One belt One Road crucial to China. How much they will support our palm oil all depends on how much we support their One belt One Road. It cannot be one way ticket.(Own Opinion only without prejudice to any party)

I opined whether it is necessary for PH "to open up all the closet and see what's in there" as this may not related to 1MDB and there is no sign that they will dig in FGV. Afterall, PH have one time said that politic will not interfer in FGV. May be what they deem fit is to replace the top personnel.

Blog: Sabah, Sarawak more than just equal partners in federation, says Nurul Izzah
2018-09-19 18:14 | Report Abuse
Just my layman's points of views and on without prejudice basis. Equal partners should be worked in reference to the terms and conditions as outlined in the MA 1963 Agreement. MA 1963 Agreement formed the basis for forming Malaysia and so is the federation. Equal partners cannot be defined in terms of the ordinary language itself but in reference to MA 1963 Agreement.
