Thanks for the updates. Rising alumina prices can be a double edged sword. Benefits the co. in the short term as the value of stock in hand goes up but down the road as the stock is replenished, cost of purchases goes up as well. Short term gain, long term pain.

I believe TA will pay about 5.5 sen dividend. Which is about 40% of 14.15 sen full year 2017 earnings. That's the reason for buying TA instead of TAGB.

Full year (2017) earnings per share : 3.05 sen Take 40% of that and dividend will be about 1.2sen. If TAGB a little generous maybe can get a little more. Little Bay earnings will be in 1st Quarter results, so the profits not likely to be handed out this year. I hope to be wrong. Only way to get a high dividend would be if TAGB hands out a special dividend. What are the chances?

So what is happening? Such a big project which is 10 times the Gemas - JB rail project can suddenly change hands. Something is happening, the authorities are not explaining, not giving any reasons whatsoever.
So maybe YTL and partners got the Gemas-JB project. Only time will tell. But of concern is Why China rail companies are abandoning the show? Who is going to pay for these super size projects?

TA has unlocked the value in 2009 by listing TAGB. Next unlock will happen if they list a reit. Otherwise it is a stock that causes a lot of frustration as it does not appreciate in price much and also does not pay a attractive dividend. So I can only say Calvin is correct and so is pussy and prc4. Those that invested many years ago are still stuck. Hopefully there will be a change for the better in the near future. My current worry is not about the performance of it's business but more on the investigation of the Trump tower vancouver sale of many condo units to chinese investors who the FBI is suspecting to have tried to influence the Trump administration. There could be further fall in share price if world markets head lower due to possible rate increase next week at the Federal Reserve. As the counter is currently weak due to uncertainty, it may go lower. But I believe in it's long term survival. Will buy on further price weakness. Cheers!!

They are bleeding cash. If this goes on, the NTA will come down. NTA alone is not enough to invest in a stock. Some of this is just hot air. If a counter or business cannot earn money consistently, dont bother. No peace of mind.

Freddiehero With some luck I also made some profit, but going forward I would be very cautious. If next 2 quarters are the same as first 2 quarters, YTL could go down to 70 - 80 sen for a p/e of 15. Look at ytlpowr few years ago was at $2+ now at $1.20 Don't keep thinking good counter cannot go down. I still believe in the YTL group but only if the share price reflects correctly the earnings. It is all about earnings. Lower earnings means lower price. Buy on good opportunity or in the YTL case buy on hope and pray very hard.

ytlpowr results boleh tahan, ytland results tak boleh tahan, ytlreit boleh tahan, ytl results tak boleh tahan. Now only left with hope (HSR) and nothing else. YTL Corp 2 quarters earn 2.5 sen. How to get good dividend ?? Disappointing show.

YTLPOWR-WB have no premium. It is very rare to find warrants without any premium. Since dividends are usually announced in August, using the warrants to take a position in YTLPOWR I think is a good idea. Can keep cash on side in case markets go down.

A few months ago I sold all TAGB and converted to TA.

What do you think of TA ? as it gives you exposure to TAGB indirectly and at a very good price. Much lower p/e and a huge discount to NTA. With 60% share in TAGB, every TA share carries 1.8 TAGB shares. 1.8 * 34 sen = 61 sen

hopetobecorrect I hope you are correct. Dividend though most likely will announce in April, as for now just hoping for good quarter. Going by experience as I have been following this counter since 2010, if Tony don't support and market is undergoing a selloff for whatever reason, this counter will just simply go down. Twice before already sink to 22 sen. But good thing is it recovers. So it is usually a good buying opportunity.

Weak. No support from Tony. Another round of selling in world markets could send this counter closer to 30 sen.

Be patient. Let the elections come and go first and then only pop!! After 2013 elections Malton shot up from 50+ sen to 80+ sen within a few days. For now it can be a ding dong show. My guess is maybe go a little lower before elections and shoot up after.

Few weeks ago already Sold YTL @ 1.48 Gemas - JB contract if valued at about 3 to 4 Billion can only bring in about 10% profit in 4 years contract duration.. Works out to about 300 to 400M in total. Which is about 75M to 100M a year for 4 years. Considering YTL shares there are about 10 Billion, it works out to 1 sen per year per share.
Looks to me like the rally from recent low of 1.10+ to 1.50+ is over done. All sifus please share your thoughts on this one. I could be wrong. Thanks.
