Limyinchu TA3 & TA4 suppose to launch this quarter. But with new gov't making many changes to the economy, maybe there could be some delay. I suppose there will be some information available at the AGM. Sri Damansara development is ongoing and I believe going well.

Management has to decide on TAGB shareholding spread by June 28. AGM is on June 27th. Look forward to some interesting news.

Never seen such high volumes for YTL and YTLPOWR. These are indeed record-breaking days. Traditional counters such as these have a large following amongst the uncles and aunties. TA gets a lot of their business from this category of traders.

Just before GE14 Gov't approved short selling !!!!
Now some people making big money just shorting the shares and bringing the counters down down down.

Here at TA we can take comfort that all these ups and downs are creating large trading volumes. The higher the volumes the better for TA. Sit back and let the show go on. Every other day Gov't make major announcement, the market becomes red hot active. Can expect an active market in the coming days, weeks and months.

I was naive to think profit will be about 6 sen for the quarter, my apologies. The taxman took a big chunk of the profits. The result is nevertheless very good. Three cheers to the management of TAGB.
On another front, there seems to be an error in reporting the NTA. It is actually showing the quarterly profit and not the NTA !!!

Jason Jason In my opinion TA is well positioned to do well. But you have to decide yourselves as stock market is never easy to predict. If you can buy and hold there is also a 4.1 sen dividend.

I hope the hard work pays off. These days it is getting very difficult to locate good counters. Even previously great and solid counters like YTLPOWR and YTL Corp are down badly. I see hope in TA as well. Will know soon enough.

After reading Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali comments such as below looks like the HSR will not be built ever.

Looks good but need a small correction. Hong Kong property sale will appear in 2nd Quarter results. This quarter should be able to report about 10 sen from the little bay sale. The rest of the business don't know lah.

300M profit from little bay works out to about 6 sen for each TAGB share. As TA owns about 1.8 Tagb shares for every TA share, TA should receive about 6 X 1.8 = 10.8 sen/share
Make it 10 sen just to be conservative. Rest of business may be affected by rising ringgit in first 3 months of the year, therefore, there may be no earnings to be gotten.

If can report 10 sens is already super duper good. Just hope there are no nasty surprises. Keeping fingers crossed.

WD40 The earnings for the quarter are 1.29 sen. First 3 quarters total is 3.85 sen. At this rate annual earnings could be at about 5 sen. If we use a p/e of 15 the share price should be at 75 sen.
Dividend for this year could be quite low, maybe 2 or 3 sen. Just assuming. YTL at the moment is not doing well. Maybe next year with better management of country. YTL needs gov't contracts to do well.

Buy TA, they already announce good dividend (4.1sen), share price at 62 sen. That is about 7% yield. Don't think YTL can do as much this year. Also TA and TAGB about to announce a big jump in profits in the latest quarter. Results will be out in next few days. Just sharing some info with you guys. Buy at your own will.

Look at YTLPOWR earnings, they are terrible. Today share price fall to 86.5 sen !!!
If quarterly results next week show further fall in earnings or who knows maybe report a loss for the first time ever, maybe share price may go to about 50 sen.

This week at least should be very busy on Bursa as there are many BN linked counters sinking like no tomorrow. Investors to continue to switch out from this stocks and guess where they gonna put their money? Just my humble opinion.

New Govt wants to cut spending, especially wants to renegotiate with China. Looks like construction will slow down a lot. steel, cement and other construction materials gonna drop in demand. Short term lots of pain. Long term should be very good as foreign investments going to start flowing with better management. Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has done a good job for Penang. He can do good job for Malaysia as well.

and of course when stock market boom!! TA will be riding the wave fast and furious.

Yes, agree with that. No need to go very far, our neighbour Singapore will likely unleash buying spree on Malaysian stocks that are undervalued. Confidence in Mahathir gonna bring a economic boom. Sentiment will be very good especially with PH attracting more and more BN frogs jumping onto PH bandwagon. Once PH achieve 2/3 majority in parliament the Govt can do wonders for the economy. It is coming!!!!!!!!

joetay If you are concerned about TAGB debt level, it is a valid concern. It is not that you are wrong as Joo Kim has also mentioned a couple of years ago that the net gearing needs to be lowered. With the sale of Little Bay the debt is being reduced from about 2.5 Billion ringgit to 1.9 Billion. Considering the quality assets it owns in various countries (currency risk is well spread out) and also the fact that many of these properties have not been revalued for very many years to show most current valuation, TAGB and TA are selling at a large discount. I don't think the debt level is as big a concern as it was in the past. Still it is up to our individual interpretation or assesment of the whole picture.
I agree with Calvin, Enid, super 888 and many others that the time has come for TA & TAGB to show much stronger performance in the months and years ahead. Why don't you join us ?

joetay Please don't mind If I say You are not keeping up with latest developments on TA & TAGB. Both this counters will be reporting a MEGA PROFIT in next quarterly results (end of May 2018 announcement). Roughly at about a whopping 6 sens for TAGB and a whopping 10 sens for TA. Mind you this is only based on profit from sale of Little Bay Sydney. Ringgit appreciation brought down the last quarterly results from the normal. One of the reasons for both TA and TAGB share price going lower to incredible firesale price. The other major reason is Tony not being able to continue TAGB share purchase as he has gone over the limit on minimum of 25% floatation requirement.

In coming AGM/EGM TAGB is asking for shareholder approval to issue more shares. Once obtained, can expect TAGB to do the necessary to fulfill requirement.

I believe Chinese production of aluminum is getting scaled down as China is moving away from use of coal. Energy intensive production is going to countries that have large fuel resources. Malaysia with it's gas is great for producing aluminum. These moves by aluminum producing companies to venture into properties could be backed up by need to expand their own facilities.
