I was an Engineering student from a public uni. and after my internship, I decided not to pursue further a career in engineering due to the job nature. and yes, given a chance to unwind time, I would've taken up a degree in business studies, finance, etc. And I second KYY call that if you failed to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, that doesn't deprive you from being rich and successful in the future. IMHO, not a wise move to issue bonus shares, it will dilute the EPS. especially at this moment when the management has just managed to execute cost control measures post GST. wait till the profit margin stabilize and improve, increase earnings then only issue bonus shares would benefit both the counter and the shareholders, no? :) perhaps another round of special dividends would be good enough to retain and stir up shareholders interest.

Agree with JT Yeo. perhaps another good rule of thumb is try to research further from what you read on the mainstream info. I am very skeptical on analyst coverage. Try to look what is the NEXT theme play after export stocks and do not chase/avoid as per recommended by the analysts. I am sure there are many hidden gems undiscovered whereby institutional investors are slowly accumulate at low price before they do coverage on it.

KYY is arrogant and egoistic in most of this articles, but he has valid points in this write up. I think he is trying to highlight that most parents or even the children itself thinks that glamorous professional like doctor, lawyer and engineer is a ticket to good money. not realizing that there are many other jobs which also pave a good career path. some people out there choose that profession not because out of passion/interest but because it is ASSUMED to pay well. I think KYY is just highlighting some other alternatives, such as accountancy, which also pays just as well.
