Over the years, i have been looking at Airasia closely. Every time when the share price was going to fly high there was always some problems surfaced. About two years ago, I was very lucky to have sold it all three weeks before the plane crashed, at that time i was 100% in Airasia.

But now i see it differently, TF has been able to turnaround most of the management issues. [recap: 1. AA saw the subsidiary as a colony/cash cow, negative capital issues has been/will be resolved, 2. Failing Hedging Strategy => hedge too much when fuel price is high, hedge too little when fuel price is low, now its more matured, 3. unable to utilise pricing advantage, with the purchase of BD4H this will be solved fairly soon (its making use of Big Data)]

Others windfall gains this year includes, Ringgit will appreciate substantially this year, 2 IPOs + dual listings + sale of AAC.

Still don't think so, after CNY lah. All Mainland Chinese are prepared to go home now. 10 more days before CNY, 沒有人會睬你 if you are going to sell AAC now. If TF sets the deadline now, he will get a very low respond.

Some beginners have the common problems of being irrational at dealings, when stock price up, they buy! when it went down, they sell! Sure they will lose money that way.

Valuation, probably FY2017 can easily make RM1.2b, just to be conservative! 8 times PE will make it 9.6b which is 50% more than the current price.

My guess is 500-600m operating profit, 300m forex losses etc, 200-300m net profit.

I believe VG has a better view. He mentioned 500m net profit.

For AAC, sure there will be a deal. Timing is not that important, just the details that matters, price, %, etc.

tkp2 sifu, its difficult for Chinese fund to buy AA share. China govt maintain tight control over capital outflow (especially now), despite that China fund still want to bid for AAC, so i am sure they are desperate. It is very difficult to get approval to invest overseas in China (especially now)

Nolah, bird flu highlight the risk also, at least more preventive measures got to be carried out everywhere which affect the whole industry, be it Korea or Malaysia.

You know, when economy no good, poultry sales tend to be slower, people just choose to eat less (meat).

Weak ringgit also pushes up cost of input. blah blah blah, not the time lah.

In fact, these few years international prices of raw material for feed has been hovering historical low, but since MYR so weak, poultry producer like CCK are not reaping any benefit.

招行、平安保 競購亞航飛機租賃部門

知情人士表示，亞洲規模最大的廉價航空公司：亞洲航空求售旗下飛機租賃部門多數股權，目前已經接獲10多份收購出價，金主主要來自中國企業，包括中國招商銀行及平安保險集團旗下的租賃事業皆參與競購。

路透日前報導，亞洲航空正在為其Asia Aviation Capital的多數股權尋找買家，估值約為10億美元。而這也是外界首度得知這項競購有多少買家有興趣，以及部分買家的身份。

消息人士透露，第1輪競購已在稍早前結束。中國企業參與此項競購的興趣高漲，無視其政府最近剛剛宣布舉措加緊管控資金流往海外。而中國企業的態度如此積極，跟看好航空租賃業未來的發展不無關係。

一名消息人士表示，亞洲航空引起急於在飛機租賃行業建立長期曝險的北亞企業和亞洲基金公司的濃厚興趣。

據先前華爾街日報報導，隨著中國居民境外旅遊的升溫，中資公司也迫切希望進入飛機租賃市場。譬如，2016年6月，中國平安國際融資租賃公司於空中巴士漢堡交付中心，向南美規模最大的航空集團：LATAM航空集團交付首架空客A321系列飛機，拉開其佈局全球航空租賃市場的序幕。

國際航空運輸協會（IATA）曾表示，到2034年，中國有望成為全球最大的航空客運市場，屆時全球每5位航空乘客中，就有1位是前往或來自中國，或是在中國境內旅行。

另據波音預測，到2026年，中國航空租賃市場將達到7,500億元人民幣，屆時中國將成為僅次於美國的第2大潛在市場，有充分的資本營運和資源整合的空間。

報導稱，目前亞洲航空已暫緩訂購約400架空客飛機，這些飛機以大幅折扣價訂購，並使該公司成為空客最大的客戶之一。

亞洲航空在2016年7月時表示，其最近訂購的100架空客A321neo噴氣式飛機中，有30架將撥給租賃業務。

Crude oil is dropping towards USD50, so we can be sure it won't go up so much in the near term. Now USD debt issue of Airasia basically safe, we can be sure it won't bankrupt due to financial distress. Soon market will rerate it, say 15-20 times PE because of consistent profitability, growth potential etc.
