Good discussion.
I came from very poor family. I lived in squatter near or inside the largest (5-10 km square) pembuangan sampah at Ampang Tasek. No electric, no pipe water except one free water pipe shared by whole squatters house. We pull a long pipe (100 meters) from the source to our house and each take turn half hour of water supply.
Without much and compete against quota, i become 2nd top SPM scorer (agregate 6, BM A1), then got number 1 out of 700+ student in USM matriculation, one of good student in medic, work with gov 4 years, came out open half charity clinic to serve mainly poor people (regardless of race and religion) for 10 years and retired at 39 years old.
My son top 10 state SPM, just passed his pre-U Australia year 12 exam, received top 10 Monash excellence scholarship to study in australia for engineering degree.
We are planning to migrate to beautiful Australia.
Malaysia is hopeless. MO TAK KAU .... cannot be saved anymore.
Cheers.

And you must've made a pretty big lump from your 'half charity clinic' from 'serving mainly poor people', in order to be able to retire at 39.

Malaysia is hopeless because we have racist ppl like u ... who proud to be racist, otak sama, kaki tangan ada but choose to jalan pakai tongkat.
Kesian.

I do my part by giving training to my operators and teach them what needed to do their job well and build up their confident to aim high.

I am glad to know many of my operators are now working in MNC at higher position and when they happen to met me they call me 'Sir'

By the way most of my operators are Malay and Indian.

I hope you find your utopian dream in Oz

And that them Ozzies are way way way less 'racist' than us over here

Hope also that you never ever go through the experience of being beat up senseless on your way home on a Saturday night by some stoned white supremacist punk just for looking far different from him

Yep I have been to Oz not a few times. Nice place. Nice girls also. Wouldn't mind migrating there myself if I had some sellable skill & some resilience.

But wouldn't really feel like home for me. Here is my motherland. Here is my urheimat. Here is where I live. Here is where I die.

So, according to Leno, Malaysia is 'one fakked-up country'? Really?

Umm, doesn't really look like so from where I'm looking. As a matter of fact, it looks like getting cooler & cosier by the day.

Loads of guys now saying that they'd love to come live over here. Indonesians, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Nepali, Thai, Vietnamese. Not to mention Arabs, Russians, Uzbek, Kazakh, Nigerians. Even Koreans & Japanese.

10 sen singapore = 10 sen malaysia.
Now ?

When I was small, I watched hongkong drama vd, wah ... hongkong so mess up ... some sort of low class city below KL standard.

Remember all those made in japan, made in taiwan ... 3rd grade product.
There was nothing made from south korea or china.

Talking about 40 years ago, Leno? Well, why not 50 or 60 years ago?

60 years ago Myanmar was being talked about as the potential future richest country of SEA. They had all the resources. And they in fact still do.

While 50 years ago Philippines was the most developed nation in SEA.

So?

I have my sympathy to those hard working and talented Malays that had make it by their own hard work. They are hurt by the very unfair perception that successful Malays get there solely due to government assistance and tired of the Malay leaders telling them Malays are lazy and need “crutches” to success.

They disdain the opaque business environment where connections often trump hard work and frustrated by their political appointee boss that you do what I told and not what you think is right.

Racist policy is the problem to malaysia unity.
Racist policy is the main cause of corruption.
Racist policy brought down our education, economy and social system.
We must help any Malaysia regardless of race or religion.
U cannot choose your race.

I say help any malaysian regardless of race, but based on need.

Why a couple of doctors is given 5% discount buying the same house by a couple of teacher ?

Myanmar and Philippine fail because of the corrupted leaders.

We were on the correct footing in the first few decades after independence being the ‘tiger of Asia’(under Tunku Abdul Rahman - Hussein Onn), but the advent of corrupted leaders and politics of race and religion changed everything.

Just like one iddiot believing that his friend actually 'saw' a 'ghost' does not mean that the world is full of 'ghosts'

Let's take Uitm, mrsm, science school,
isn't they becoming racist institution ?
It is not i want all chinese or indian enrol into them, but without competition, how can these main group of student come out and be independent ? Not only they do not compete, but were isolated from other malaysian culture and race. And then they blame others for unity problem.
Do correct me if i am wrong anywhere.

You are spot on Leno.

They, further distance themselves using religion by labeling nons as kafirs, not consuming our food because it is haram and many more smearing. All this is done using religion. They chose to sever but blame others.

They even impose their code of conduct and moral values in schools and offices.

And our goverment did this little by little for so many years.
After 40 years ... i don't see we can reverse it anymore.
People who suffer are the POOR people.

Take example, 35 years ago, when after form 5, i worked as bus mini no. 24 conductor. The bus was in bad shape, dirty, hot, humid, dusty, run by non-malay couple who rent from an umno consortium which get their bus mini licence almost free thru racist policy.

They work hard just to cover the RM 2,000 per month rent they need to pay. They have to cut cost thru tayar celup, minimal maintenance, minimal pay just to get by.

Who are those riding the dusty, dirty, hot, humid bus mini ?
Is it the menteri ? The umno exco ? Datuk sri ?
It is the poor people.

Sorry, I'm just passing through. Can't help but give my two cents worth. I think everyone has a freedom of choice and if one is not happy or dissatisfied with his or her current situation, then he or she has the right of option to resolve or remove oneself from the bad situation or malaise. Mdm Leno, I and many others also understand your gripes and frustration. And, it's a good thing that you're planning to migrate. Congratulations! But, it's not a very good idea to condemn the country you were born and grow up with. The mere fact that you could afford and capable of moving out and away to another supposedly better country, on your own resources, shows that you have also benefited in some way or another from the prosperity of the country, despite its many flaws and failures. Preferably, we, every patriotic, caring and loving citizens (irrespective of race, creed, colour or religion) of this ostensibly beautiful and blessed country should hopefully work together to bring our beloved nation to greater heights of development and prosperity. It seems utopian but we have not fallen to the bottom of the abyss yet! I believe there is still hope if every citizen is cognizant and believe in this ideal and could work towards this dream! All the corrupt, incompetent, good for nothing, rent seeking, racists, extremists, unqualified politicians etc. must be removed for the country to move further up the rung of prosperity. Nobody else can do this except every citizens i.e you and me and all caring loving citizens of Malaysia. We cannot allow these incompetent selfish politicians ruin the country and let it go to the dogs, so to speak!

Then come this National Car policy and AP this and that.
National Car policy are so good for the people.
Now everyone can drive free car to everywhere .. got ?

Imagine if a toyota vios selling ONLY at RM 30 k, and people can save RM 40 k to pay for oil (20 years), maintainance, and still got many thousand left to buy books, clothes for kids, food and many more.

Why lah ?

Dear leno,
You are lucky to be accepted to do medicine. My brother first batch students doing STPM was denied a place to study medicine or engineering and end up with his last choice of Science with Education while many of his Malay classmates who do poorly in the STPM was offered an oversea scholarship.

Ya Lanciao la this malay centric policy, they use all sorts of system, via their political power, to halt advancement of the Chinese, so that they can almost monopolize every sectors. If the malay were to compete with Chinese on even, level grounds, haha, how to compete?
Lanciao also Philip la, he is successful and don't give a damn about Chinese who were losing out bcoz if quota system.

I knew every single one of them by name.
Every single one also know me.

98 malays
10 chinese
4 indians
0 iban, kadazan,or other bumi
0 orang asli.

So all the Chinese and Indian top the class?
Did the Malay managed to graduate?

MY UM Engineering batch are mostly Chinese as I presumed the crème de la crème Malay alreay given their oversea scholarships

The few Malays can't catch up with the study and eithet drop off half way or need special tutorial class to pass the examine.

As of the Chinese some of them are better than the lecturer.

Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Ir. Dr. Chuah Hean Teik is one of those brilliant student on our batch.
