Nope. Britain was a relatively benign benevolent colonialist. The Brits was not like the Dutch, the French or the Italians, who fought brutal wars against indigenous people in anti-colonial wars of independence.

As soon as the native people started looking like they were ready to govern themselves, Britain usually let them go in relatively peaceful ways. There were no violent protracted wars between Asian colonies & Britain, at least not in eastern Asia.

China’s economic strategy is creating free-market capitalism with an authoritarian one-party state that prioritizes political stability. The three broad guidelines for economic development are:

Basically China rapid economic advance is due to stability provided by CPC government and their commitment to market innovation and experimentation. People of China support the CPC government (Mandate of Heaven) because of sustainability of the economic system, an equitable distribution of wealth (some get rich or superrich first in order to help the poor) and poverty alleviation.
The theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Jack Ma had gone too far libertarian capitalism or right-wing libertarianism and need to be corrected.
