Modern Ukraine is a new creation

There was no Ukraine in ancient times. There was only Kievskaya Ruska (Kievan Rus), which then expanded to encompass the territories of today's Ukraine, Russia & Belarus. So all three of them are heirs to the lands of Kievskaya Ruska.

Crimea Peninsula was a small part of Russia gifted to Ukraine as a token of friendship & goodwill. So when Ukraine wanted to ditch Russia as a brother & friend, Russia just took back Crimea from Ukraine.

Prisperous Realm, Creamia went back to Russia through Referendum .Majority of Creamian speak Russians and more than 90 % voted to join Russia rather than Ukraine who was poor and dependent on Russia for oil and natural gas. The creamian was smart to choose Russia .Today Ukraine is in a pitiable state with big unemployments. Prostitution are rampant.Income per capita drop to a level which is almost the lowest in Europe. Ukraine used to be highly industrialised . In fact the first Chinese AC Lioaning the body of which was built by Ukraine.Today they have lost such capability.Ukrainian made the biggest mistake by ditching its neighbour and former master and sided with US and western Europe to go against Russia.

Both Russian and Ukrainian languages come from the same one common root: Old East Slavic.

That was their major common shared influence. Ukrainian then mixed in some Polish, Hungarian, German and Romanian grammar and vocab. While Russian, on the other hand, evolved steadily into the modern form known today.

PtosperousRealm, my key points in this forum is the complexity of geopolitics . There exist numerous hypocrisy,lies and double standards . The governments must exercise realitic and rational judgements so that they would not end up like Ukraine who blindly think that the western style democracy will bring prosperity to their residents but instead a big disaster.

Sinitic people from northern 'China' descended southward to conquer, rape, assimilate and/or exterminate non-sinitic people like AustroAsiatic (like Mon, Khmer etc.), Austronesian (like proto-Malay, deutro-Malay etc.), Tai-Kradai (like T'ai, Lao etc.), Yue (like Viet) people etc.

Well, we humans ARE primates.

So are monkeys, baboons, chimpanzees, gorillas & orang utans etc.

But that does NOT mean that we are descended from either monkeys, baboons, chimpanzees, gorillas or orang utans.

We do quite likely share a common APE ancestor with them chimpanzees.

While all apes & all those other species of primates including monkeys are possibly or even likely descended from one common even more ancient primate superancestor that lived about 25 million years ago.
