anyone aware of this announcement & detail on 16 july 2018 refering to TM's announcements on 16 January and 14 April 2018 in respect of the MOU with TNB for the collaboration to establish a detailed joint proposal for Nationwide Fiberisation Plan (NFP). Potential for OPCOM?

Haha you guys really have no idea what it means from the news right? Previously, TM plans to utilize the fiber network from existing TNB cable they have across the country to expand the unifi business. Now the deal is cancelled. That means TM will build its own fiber network >> more business to Opcom.

Thats why the price increased today. Come on!!

I got answer for Opcom holders

Opcom has TM & TNB as long term business buyers

TM turned Optic Fibers into HSBB whereas TNB only use its for its own communications

Why TNB needed OPCOM fiber Optics

In Its Power Grid TNB need information & communication.

Copper wire can conduct electricity so it is dangerous. Fiber Optic (glass is a non conductor of electricity) So very safe

Now BN Govt wanted TNB to Jv with TM to use its surplus Optic Fibers

But not practical as TNB fiber only run along its Power Grid

TM must reach into every area of City & Kampung where there is even no electricity. So JV called off.

TM might make fresh oders for Opcom Fiber Optics as Mukhriz is son of Tun Dr M

3 more reasons for Optic Fiber demand:

1) Pengerang RAPID 14 km of O&G needs Fiber Optic because it is non conductor of electricity

2) Sedenak designated as DATA & CALL CENTRE (Microsoft might invest Rm6 Billions) need lots of Fibers

3) Jack Ma Jv Malaysian Govt Digital Free Trade Zone might also need lots of Fiber Optics for HSBB penetration into every kampung, including Sabah and Sarawak for ECommerce of SMEs.

Jack Ma wants Malaysian Companies to follow Alibaba selling goods to whole world

Few people can see now. Only Jack Ma sees now.
Some day all will also see.

And these 4 Companies will do Ok

1) TM needs lots of Fibers for Expansion
2) OPCOM the No. One Optic provider
3) ECS ICT (Computers will connect to Optic Fibers)
4) COMPLETE LOGISTIC (ECommerce in physical delivery & storage)

Nice write up. Let see how it reacts tomorrow. Some may still dreaming to get low price because of the MOU cancellation. They definitely got no idea of the business. Only know buy and run in 1 or 2 bids.
