As I said before, the only way to Green Packet recoup its investment is to unlock the value of P1! Be it disposing it off, listing or selling a big stake to other telcos. There are many signs showing that this is going to happen soon. Significantly lesser capital & advertising expenditure, disposing off the HQ property, Michael resigned , striking off Singapore subsidiary and etc. These are among the signs that Green Packet already has something in mind. Puncak Semangat could tie up with Axiata mainly because of the spectrum, what do you think abt P1 with not only the spectrum but also the customer base and branding ! Rumor has been there for quite some time, and like others, it will eventually materialise !
this might be megan...500,000 subscribers and losing continuously? ...haiya just like china stock...very2 fishy...i don't believe at all that 500,000...even 50k also don't believe...tipu gila2 punye
DiGi.Com Bhd is actively looking to acquire new telecommunications spectrum to sustain its growth plan in Malaysia. Part of the plan could be acquiring companies that own such spectrum, such as the four companies that have the 2,300 megahertz (MHz) spectrum.
There are four such operators, namely, Asiaspace Sdn Bhd, Packet One Networks Sdn Bhd (a unit of Green Packet Bhd), REDtone International Bhd and YTL Communications Bhd.
This kind of china man mentality. Seriously, I dun think people will use their service. Come on. They are so petty over small things but they forgot that it is the broadband business that is making money. Even Modem a little bit faulty also cannot take back. This kind of mentality how to do business?
Sat Starbiz again..DiGi is actively looking to acquire new telecommunications spectrum to sustain its growth plan in Malaysia. Part of the plan could be acquiring companies that own such spectrum, such as the four companies that have the 2,300 megahertz (MHz) spectrum....
Rumour push price. Better for contra rather than hold. Even Digi or other co# want to buy up GPacket, what offer price will be offer to GP? A high Debt + neg profit company. Caution to trade on this stock.
This 3rd time price surge due to unforeseen news... too much speculative play by hit-and run player and it could be retail trading play or speculative play by some big players.
If GP to sell P1 can materialise until 2014 not 2013.
1. TM I dont think so. 2. Digi 50:50 3. SKT on the card .
Looks like the news is true. All investor, please hold your ticket and wait to fly high again in month of Sept. Target price RM0.8 is possible if P1 sell to Digi. Huat ar.
Wall Street Rallies on China Data..Dow Above 15,000..U.S. stocks rallied on Monday, with the Nasdaq Composite ending at its highest level since September 2000, as upbeat data from China boosted sentiment about the global economy and concerns eased about an imminent Western strike against Syria.
Shares of WiMAX operators rose on active trading yesterday amid speculation of a possible rise in merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in the telecommunications space, with DiGi.Com Bhd seen as possibly being on the hunt to buyout such companies.
StarBizWeek had reported over the weekend that large telco operator needs for wireless spectrum could become the basis for such M&A activity. The report quoted analysts who had speculated DiGi.Com Bhd could be looking at buying out WiMAX players primarily for their wireless spectrum.
Shares of Green Packet Bhd, the major owner of WiMAX operator Packet One Networks Sdn Bhd, rose the most, gaining by 7 sen or 21% to close at 40 sen, with 31 million shares traded.
The shares of REDtone International Bhd and YTL Power International Bhd, the owners of the other two WiMAX operators in the country, rose marginally by 1.2% and 3.13% respectively.
A dealer noted that he wasn’t surprised that Green Packet shares rose the most amid the M&A speculation, considering that the company had already declared some time ago its intention to seek possible “strategic alternatives”.
Last October, following press reports that Green Packet had received bids for its 61% stake in P1, Green Packet had confirmed that it was exploring strategic alternatives for P1 “including the possibility of merger, consolidation, to sell a stake and other options to maximise shareholders value.”
The report by StarBizWeek had highlighted that major telco’s such as Maxis and Celcom have been quick to ink collaboration deals with other recipients of the valuable 2600 MHz wireless spectrum band, leaving DiGi with the least amount of access to that spectrum.
DiGi also has only a fraction of the 900 MHz spectrum that both Celcom and Maxis have.
I gave up on them. Cancelling services this month. Gave them so much time to improve. Guess they don't have enough funds or the funds going somewhere. Paying RM99 but they want me to pay only RM88. Should improve their services instead of trying to hold on to customers.
the old adage holds true again..buy on rumors sell on news..i guess 30% upmove in a week is too temtping not to take some profit first...wait for another round to get back in...
