Thanks bkyc! With the current price of Yen Global of Rm 1.63 Gpacket made already a (paper) gain of around Rm 30 mio. Not bad and much more than with their operations.
Yang88, both stocks are highly recommendable and both have in my opinion a lot of opportunities. The OCK-WA has of course gearing but you pay for this around 30% premium. OK they last to 2020 but it remains a risk.If you have to choose GP or OCK shares (not warrants) what do you prefer?
coecoe, thanks for sharing your opinion . I think GP has the edge over OCK. But then I look at the 31/12/2016 quarterly report,, revenue of GP went up to 115mil from 91mil, but EPS instead went down to 0.2cent compared to 12.1cents of the earlier quarter?.?? Do I miss something? Pls share your opinion! Thank you.
Yen global change name to G3 Today G3 up 13 sen to RM1.73 Gpacket holding more than 20 % of G3 share. Gpacket bought G3 at RM0.50 only. If factor the gain in Quarterly result should be very good result.
Quartz....you are right ,,,,.now its time to hold tech stocks..Gpacket is one of the tech stocks like JHM.....Even George Soros also dumps his money on US tech stock 'Snap"
Soros Fund Management ups Goldman stake, buys Snap shares in first quarter
As the profit on G3 is made only when the stake is sold it will not be visible in the P&L and or earnings per share. It is an balance issue but who cares
Green Packet has put in place a payment platform to provide end-to-end solutions for its digital ambitions. In Aug 2016, it purchased an 80% stake in WOL – a Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) e-wallet license holder – for MYR9m to facilitate cashless and card-less transactions. The company has also set-up a mobile wallet application – Kiple (kiplepay.com) – to tap on the rapidly-growing e-commerce segment. Green Packet is also collaborating with the Government on a cashless/smart payment card that would eventually be rolled out in schools nationwide. The smart preloaded card would eventually replace cash payments by students at cafeterias, canteens and bookshops, and would ride on WOL’s infrastructure. We see good potential for recurring revenues from the project, given the captive market and high volume of transactions.

I do not understand the investment in Yen Global for an IT company although so far it is extremely positive financially. Have I missed something?
