Recently we have seen huge acquisition of CIMB shares by Morgan Stanley (surprise) and EPF, plus the shares that were hold on by others institutional investors, the daily trading volume has been dropping due to the fact that this big boys are holding the shares and only some small retail investors playing the market. By this measures, I can say that CIMB shares is now a safe and defensive counter.

CIMB giving special dividend shares of equivalent to 15sen to shares holders....entitlement date to be announce, so it is good news for those holding their shares as of today. Price should be up tomorrow in accordance to this announcement.

1. Dividend per CIMBGH Share = RM 0.02
2. “Value per Dividend Share” is IDR 504 or RM 0.15 ( which is 5-market day volume weighted
average price of Niaga shares (BNGA)
3. Entitled Shareholders who hold fewer than 639 CIMBGH Shares will
receive cash in lieu of the actual number of Dividend Shares
4. . Entitled Shareholders who hold more than 639 CIMBGH Shares will receive dividend as in Niaga class B shares which is value of RM0.15 ( how to sell or trade this kind of shares? in Indonesia's stock market?)

5. so the dividend per CIMBGH share in cash is only = RM0.02 and the Value of the shares is RM0.15.. which one to choose?

The dividend is targeting at big institutional investors like MS and EPF etc...they will get the additional shares and hence will be holding on for their shares despite the current volatile market. In fact it is the small retail investors that have weak holding power that is selling...once the price drop to "stupidity" level, you will see them buying up fierce and fast....so those that have caught will curse and swear again....hold.

RM0.15 i believe is CIMB Niaga per share value..
If you take RM0.15 divide 6.39, you will get RM0.02xx.

Vin Cullen the dividend is extra not reduced and will be paid in July if read Sun news. Half yearly dividend(Sep and Mar) is still ongoing.
