I don't think the Islamic funds ever invested in Btoto hence no issue of selling non-syariah compliant.

CIMB's research in June 2014 maintained target price of 4.57! They expect dividends to move back to to a 29 - 30 sen / share i.e. mouth-watering 7.8% yield at today's close of 3.74. Read on but don't your hopes up too high. Easier to believe that Harry Porter exists.

Is it possible bjtoto will go bankrupt if there is economic crisis? If no, how much the price would it be and also the dividend per share? can anyone enlighten me tq !

My take - Sports Toto is a very resilent business since the bets are small. It's recession proof.

The biggest threat in my opinion is if the Finance Ministry does not renew its numbers forecasting licence. Hopefully the new crop of leaders like Robin Tan will be able to play the "game" with the powers that be.

If the licence is not renewed, then it would be close to it's NTA which is approximately 42 cents. The other big threat is if the powers that be, get greedy & want a bigger slice of the earnings - for nothing.

OMG, heard all outlet might be closed in selangor if PAS became MB...same for MAGNUM also...shit...stuck with 50 lots here. fk fk fk...

I understand that when PAS ruled Kedah, the outlets were allowed to continue. Hence unlikely Selangor outlets will be closed. However Kelantan is a different kettle of fish - there's no outlet hence the bettors only outlet was the illegal ones.

Of course the government lost the tax revenue (which is substantial). Good Eg. of a lose-lose arrangement.

What is the pt of getting 25sen div but share price also plunge 25sen. I sole all already & switched to LTKM, a fundamentally sound poutry co. that pay 5%++ div.

Posted by armadasaxon > 2014-09-09 16:02 | Report Abuse

SS661M what u say is absolutely right..i seen this counter from 2008 rm5 till now..rm220 dividend x 6 years=rm1320...the price as now is rm5-rm1.32..no difference..even after give u shares..his price still drop..

Another counter for your consideration. Homeritz. A furniture co. that pays 6% div.

There is a very quiet fundamentally sound IT counter called Microln. Insas owns Inari&Formis. Formis bought Microln early this yr. I think the complicated corporate structure has hidden Microln from investors' radar. This counter is a net cash company that pay 8% dividend last yr.

I'm ok with 5.5 sen div.

In all fairness, TVT has a tough time lobbying for a fair deal with the powers that be in the face of GST i.e. how gaming duties & taxes should appropriately be reduced, dealing with the Philippine as well as the Vietnamese counterparts.

End of the day, I hope it would be a fair win-win deal for all parties.

Latest highest TP by TA RM4.51, 20.59% upside.

Valuations
We revise our DDM-derived fair value higher to RM4.51/share (from
RM4.34/share previously) after increasing our dividend payment
assumptions. We continue to like BJToto for its defensive quality as
earnings are largely domestic-centric. Also, given the attractive
dividend yield of 7.2%, we upgrade BJToto to Buy from hold.

Thanks for this report but not convincing. Although dividends are appreciated by shareholders, it is unlikely to push share price so high. I believe earnings increase has a much bigger impact.

I hope HR Owen can show some good results.
