Every year there will be positive news and negative news. And even the market is good, doesn't mean the stock price will go up, and vice versa. It is how you value the company, your investment strategy, as well as your risk management. Even the market is good, a small war between Iran and US, or any regional conflict may cause market going down. You are buying part of the company, not the whole market.

Maybe the big fishes do not trust our government. Foreign news also reported India will stop buying palm oil from Malaysia, but the minister insisted India is going to buy more palm oil. Smart word, by saying going to buy, no need to show any proof. Malaysia now is like Taiwan, use mouth to manage the country. Any problem, just push to BN, blame on market, some more got one DAP guy even said palm oil price up, is PH credit. PH now is even worse than BN.

I am not interested with the politics, but, something fishy about our market. Those days, they keep blaming on HK riot, trade war, brexit, Iran tension & etc. All the markets are on the rise (Singapore today +12 points) & western markets keep breaking new high, then why KLCI -10 points now?

when OPR hike 25 basis points, their lending cost hike 25 bps. When OPR decline 25 bps, they decline 15. Twice they did that. But with the recent cut, they did not dare. Why? because BNM taikor looking closely at them. So unethical. Should this yr cut another 25 bps, see how their lending margin squeezed further.

-No work life balance
-1 person’s job, 4 person to monitor.
Business force getting smaller & smaller.
While the “policeman” getting more & more. Everyone wanted to join there & catch you.
-the company structure is weak and not organize
-Slow internal processes and resistant to change
- Management politics...doesn't care about staff
-Management direction, style and strategy changes constantly, and front office employees are not rewarded competitively. Top front liners usually leave the bank within a year or two of service

Did some homework for you all. Look at the feedback from their current/former staff. Is it consistent with what i had said earlier?

You want the best bank, invest in public bank and pay 1.8 times book value.

You want to make money, invest in an ugly duckling like ABMB and pay 0.7 times book.

If you are investing in ABMB on a thesis of well managed, conservative and growth bank, I think you are confused

Nobody could predict accurately when sentiment would turn.

The banking sector at a whole is trading at depressed valuation even lower than the financial crisis.

Since the financial crisis, local banks have buffed up their balance sheet with additional capital and instilled disciplined underwriting.

I would say the downside risk is limited from here due to the fact that banks are financially strong and the lack of interest from investing public.

As for the upside, it may never come. All it takes is BNM to loosen up and banks will see another spring again.

A few kawan here focused on interest rate movement which I think is shortermist.

Most banks has a cost plus business model. Any changes in interest rate will be adjusted in one quarter.
