B2 VARIATION OF RESULTS AGAINST PRECEDING QUARTER

Group revenue for the quarter ended 30 September 2017 was RM6,694.0 million, an increase of RM252.6 million compared to the preceding quarter mainly due to higher sales volume by 7%, offset by a decrease in average selling price by 3%.

Group operating profit stood at RM439.0 million, an increase of RM131.8 million compared to the preceding quarter mainly due to:
• improved margin of RM151.4 million from Mogas in line with the increasing MOPS price trend during the quarter; and
• higher other income of RM4.1 million mainly from Mesra income.
This was partially offset by higher operating expenditure by RM24.5 million attributable to increase in salaries, wages and benefits.

some reasonable improvement in the retail pet dag business loh...!!
But the exceptional improvement in Pet dag eps big bulk more than 50% is due to disposal of business loh...!!

Pe at 20x....still consider high compare with HRC and Petron loh...!!

please see petdag operating profit and PBT. it's a fantastic result. it's not Petdag management's fault that investors pay 20x PE for their stock. but high benchmark means more room for petron to go higher

PetDag, 3% higher sales volume is based on combined retail & commercial. If only include the retail segment, the actual growth volume YoY is -4% due to upgrading & improvement activities. Compare that to expected volume growth for PetronM 3Q2017 of 18.2%, deduced from the “Malaysia grew volume by 9%...” from Petron Corporation’s statement to Securities and Exchange Commission, “gaining market share” is going to be a powerful fuel to already heightened momentum for PetronM ….

When more funds managers started to pour their monies into Petronm, can't imagine the level of price it will attain.

Don't forget, Petronm is also planning to set up a petrol chemical plant here in Msia. This is a much more lucrative biz its parent company wanted Petronm to get in the next phase of biz line and bankers are being scouted for pending finalization of terms and conditions such as pricing and tenure.
