Finally today all genting shares were dumped, GB and GMB, not a single ticket left. Has been the ardent supporter since uncle lim's days. But the time is up, the good old days were gone, and it is all because of the prodigal son, World Resort or Genting, will never be the same again. Ever since the company was controlled by the prodigal son, the performance of the Genting group companies were worse off quarters after quarters, years after years. If the happenings of covid wasn't bad enough, there would always be squandering of funds somewhere along the line. Losses of the RM1.8billlion Whampanoag investment, at least RM500 million Empire Resorts, still to no end, and the default payment of infamous genting HK luxury cruise liners, just to name a few, shocking ! absolutely shocking ! And when someone never worked his way up like most people did, this is probably the result of it. Despite palm oil price is historically the highest in the first quarter, they only managed to make meagre sum of profit by having lame excuses left right and centre. Even GentingM revenue was up almost triple yoy, still they managed to come up with a whopping 142 million losses ! Unbelievable ! And the excuse was, expenditure was up due to more staffs are employed, well you have to manage the cost and keep it under control ! That's why the CEO is the best paid CEO in the country ! But fail he did, costs were out of control and yet again, RM142 million losses were incurred. Not to forget, MCO was lifted since last October and Skyworld was up and running since 1st February. Frankly, this is definitely NOT GOOD enough. Imagine if another round of movement control is imposed, it would certainly spell huge trouble for this management. Someone did say it precisely, previously, that one should not have sentimental value on any stocks. Have been placing too much trust and faith on this company but the performance of this CEO is far too disappointing, and the huge salary being fetched, is totally unacceptable. A good CEO, is someone who can turn a coal mine into a gold mine, but a terrible CEO would turn a gold mine into a hazardous bauxite mine.

@kincho, if u dun like how things r developing and managed in GenT Group of Companies by current CEO and is going against yr personal philosophy and expectations, there’re plenty other companies for u to choose from in Bursa. U actually dun need to come here and pour cold water. What’s yr motivation in doin so??? Ha????? Talking abt truth, wat u and most of us know abt d companies is just d surface of things and conceived our perceptions as best as possible thru information obtained fr d media. Unless u r in d inner circle, u actually cannot fully understand every business decision made. And furthermore, not every business decision is perfect and flawless. Money and risk taking decisions r all yours and nobody is pointing a gun in your head to put it into GenT Group of Companies. Just my 2 cents.

and, dun expect miracles to happen tht GenT w straight away bounce back to profitability as soon as borders r reopened. There’re many uncertainties in d marketplace which r constantly unfolding as I write tis. I can still remember how many people were very critical of LGT’s dream of opening road up to mountain top today we all know as Genting Highlands. He was pretty much bankrupted by it. And now, everyone is praising how visionary and smart of him to dare to embark on such a dream and to realized it. So, only time cud tell if things r goin in d right direction for GenT. If u r not in d boat to embark on its journey, dun try to rock it as u CANNOT do it from outside.

First of all, my apology on my lambasting of the management of GenB and GenM, it's been a long time coming. Nonetheless, harsh truth is always hard to swallow. Scolding a child doesn't mean you don't love him or her, sometimes it is for the good of that subject's interest. However, there is one good news about this whole saga, i.e. whenever i opened fire on this GenB and GenM, its share price always toughens up in the next few sessions, like taking tongkat ali, and it never fails. Let's see if i am right again this time. Good luck folks.

In all fairness, we shud and must give d management team enuf time to steer d company to more solid grounds to grow its biz portfolios given d much challenging biz environment it is in. LKT has done well to protect LGT’s legacy by internationalizing GenT’s biz tht ultimately w benefit all those shareholders who r willing to strongly support its biz endeavors regardless of good and challenging times.
