Genting's arrested cruise ships sold for US$128m TheEdge Fri, Jun 17, 2022 04:49pm - 16 hours View Original
KUALA LUMPUR (June 17): Genting Hong Kong Ltd’s cruise ships Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, both of which have been under arrest in Bahamian waters for more than four months were sold on Tuesday (June 14) for a combined US$128 million (about RM564 million) via auction to CSE Ltd and CSY Ltd, Tribune Business reported, quoting the lawyer representing the ships’ secured financier DNB Bank.
Jokers ..the global market are under pressure…so what do you expect from Genting? I still think worst is over for them. US print money, they have the biggest deficit in the world…they print and borrow money, issue IOU and they get away with it..because we have to business trade using USD! If we don’t use USD yiu are banned. Where do all financial crisis start from guess, yes US! Who recover first US, after their investors have cleaned up the market …it is a gravy train for them…it is like insider dealing! If don’t agree with them tney show you their big gun!
Some people told me 2023 would be a better year, so it’s up to individual on whether worth the bet to hve a longer view or just sell with lesser profit….
But for FF, i think fundamentals such as high profits, good corporate governance, increasing revenue plus good S&P/Fitch ratings are more important than what IB analysts say….
As to what @MM mentioned, which top notch MNC doesn’t have high debts especially caused by the debilitating last 2 years of Covid global pandemic? Those who could obtain bank funding during pandemic are considered ‘quality companies cos banks usually tighten their lending criteria then. High Revenue is key to source of funding for servicing loans. So, personally i m not so concerned about GB’s ability to pay her bankers interest & principal as long as GB can bring in Revenue post 1st April
Every morning in Bursa, a BILIS wakes up, it knows it must outswim the fastest WHALE or it will be killed. Every morning in Bursa a WHALE wakes up, it knows it must swim faster than the slowest BILIS or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you're the WHALE or the BILIS - when the sun comes up, you'd better be swimming. Haha haha.
Bank of England will scramble to buy BTC before it hits $1 million, Bitcoin expert projects
Bitcoin expert Max Keiser has said that the Bank of England (BoE) will be scrambling to acquire Bitcoin before the asset trades at $1 million. Keiser notes that the potential adoption of Bitcoin by the BoE is part of the broader notion that the asset has 'killed' central banks, Express.co.uk reports. He states that BoE is eventually considering adopting Bitcoin, a process that is in various phases, which he likened to the five stages of grief. Keiser believes that the bank is in the anger phase. "The bargaining phase will be their central bank digital currency stage, and when that fails comes depression as the price tops? 363,000 ($500,000) and then acceptance with the Bank of England scrambling to buy Bitcoin before it tops? 727,000 ($1million) per coin," said Keiser. His comments come after Bank of England deputy governor Sir Jon Cunliffe indicated that cryptocurrencies threaten the global economy and called for the sector's regulation. BoE's strict approach to Bitcoin According to Cunliffe, if strict regulations are not imposed on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, they can generally trigger a financial meltdown. He cited the volatility of the assets as the main reason for banning Bitcoin. According to Cunliffe: "But as the financial crisis showed us, you don't have to account for a large proportion of the financial sector to trigger financial stability problems sub-prime was valued at about $1.2tn in 2008." The official maintained that Bitcoin poses stability risks that can grow rapidly, affecting the general financial system. He said that the main concern is that the crypto assets have no intrinsic value and are vulnerable to significant price corrections. Cunliffe acknowledged that governments must be careful not to overreact or classify new approaches as "dangerous" because they are different. However, he stated that cryptocurrencies and the technology behind them offer a radical improvement in financial services.
