Where is Sharefisher? That smart one knows when is bull market, when is a bear market. Short term entry price TA skill is not as important as knowing the primary direction of the stock market. In a bull market most of the stocks will go up, and in a bear market most of the stocks will go down.
Fed rate hike: US interest rates hit 14-year high in inflation battle * By Natalie Sherman * Business reporter, New York 21 September 2022, 19:01 BST https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62973376.amp
The US central bank has pushed interest rates to the highest level in almost 15 years as it fights to rein in soaring prices in the world's largest economy. The Federal Reserve announced it was raising its key rate by another 0.75 percentage points, lifting the target range to 3% to 3.25%. Borrowing costs are expected to climb more - and remain high, the bank said. The move comes despite mounting concern that the cost of controlling inflation could be a harsh economic downturn…
Wow, Fed Hikes Interest Rates 0.75 % lifting the target range to a record high of 3% to 3.25% Like that today Genting will be limit up already liao lah !
Before the start of the pandemic DJ was 29k Start of the pandemic DJ was 19k After that DJ went up to 36k From 19k to 36k period, most of the world was in lockdown (on & off) but DJ still managed to gain. During lockdown people stop working, but DJ still going up. Against logic.
I am puzzle, whether Fed induced recession will put a stop and stagnant on DJ and others?

Which stocks are hit hardest by recession? A recession is “a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months.” Industries affected most include retail, restaurants, travel/tourism, leisure/hospitality, service purveyors, real estate, & manufacturing/warehouse.18 Aug 2022
Which stocks do well in a recession? There are no fully recession-proof stocks. Some sectors, such as consumer staples, health care and utilities, have historically done better than the broad market during recessions. Advisors also point to value stocks and commercial real estate as potentially advantageous investments during downturns..
During a recession, defensive stocks can help protect your portfolio. “Companies that sell essential services and goods, such as food, electricity (and) shelter are generally non-cyclical and less exposed to economic cycles,” Katz says.12 Sept 2022
Posted by BradonOoi > 21 seconds ago | Report Abuse Panic sell. Seems like market is not optimistic over Genting getting Macau gaming license... ------------------------------------------------------------------
Macau licence application is not exactly a bad news. Pre-covid days Macau was the global number 1 gaming market. During bull market, this news could be greeted by a rally base on Macau licence theme play.
Strong selling more likely due to bear market's dominant downward force exerting itself, hence price moving lower and lower. Global stock indexes all red everywhere. There is little catalyst for the bulls to start coming in after very hawkish FED during FOMC post-conference. The average Fed members' forecast pivot rate is 4.6%. Some area of the economy may crack big time (especially highly indebted and stressed sectors/companies) and may evolve into another financial crisis some time down the road. FedEx and Ford already sounded warning bells on weak earnings forward. In summary, its a bear market.
