Bought Heim ( Guinness) many years ago for just below RM6. For first 10 years, its share price was below my buying price. At the 10th year or so, its share price was at my buying price. However, due to its very high DY of 8% or thereabout, when its price was at my buying price, taking dividends into account, this stock had returned 100% at that point.

Today, its DPS is 81 sen. At buying price of about RM6, this is a DY of 13.5% based on historical cost.

For long term investment, this has been a great uptrending stock for 2 decades, but I'm more pessimistic over next decade, as politics becomes more extreme. I would need a low price to get into this stock, with a forward looking dividend yield of at least 5%. Last year's dividend of 138 sen was a record, but historically, when it makes record, the following year dividend dips down. I suspect we'll see 2023 dividend to be lower. If I take the average of the 3 highest ever dividend in last 8 years, that works out to be an average of 116 sen. Applying 5% dividend yield gives me an entry price of RM23.2. It's now trading at RM26.5.

The odds of me entering at RM23-24 is low, maybe less than 20% chance. Price needs to drop a lot, like 62% retracement from the massive 2020 Covid range.

But low price to me is a valid reason to enter in a stock like this one. Just wait for a crisis.

So tempting. I added at RM22 on Friday. Now 2.4% of my portfolio. My target is around 3.0% of my portfolio. This one is a keeper for a long time. Need to watch my HEIM and CARLSBG to not exceed 5%-6% of my portfolio long term, as dividend payors. I may temporarily exceed this limit for short term trading, but the goal is to keep plenty of spare cash to pick up the panic crash which sometimes happens and really pays off.

If I understand the figures extracted in fundamental analysis correctly, I think HEIM has actually gained market share (or revenue) for its business over the last few years and possess the potential to keep ahead of its rivals however CARLSBG flashes “buy signal” in technical analysis now but do be careful as it had visited stock prices in the range of between rm18.22 and rm18.16.
