BERJAYA Hotels & Resorts, a subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia-listed conglomerate Berjaya Corporation, will be making a US$15-20 million purchase of two ATR 42-500 aircraft that will serve Redang island in Malaysia. The first aircraft will be delivered in April, and Berjaya Hotels & Resorts hopes that the inaugral flight will take place in June. The aircraft will be operated by sister company Berjaya Air. The hotel group said that in the future, Berjaya Air will explore opportunities to link Redang island to Singapore.

Lol...most of BJcorp earlier "losses" were due to provisions earlier for impairment on GMOC rm650 million non payment by Beijing Skyocean.. which will be reversed once payment is received..if no payment can always take back GMOC land for resale to other interested parties..anyway the fact that BJCorp has RM1.2 billion for Tioman & RM80 million for Redang speaks volume of a company flushed with cash from other property sales in China, Vietnam & Korea..
