Vietlott profitable thanks to award 116 billion unrecognized.


The unlicensed jackpot helped Vietlott outstrip its net profit target of VND142 billion after half a year.

Vietnam Lottery Company Limited (Vietlott) said that the revenue before tax incentive in the first six months of this year reached 1.883 billion. Lottery by matrix with products Mega 6/45 and Power 6/55 accounted for overwhelming proportion in the revenue structure with more than 97%.

The compensation and bonus paid in this period was VND1,285 billion, an increase of VND 250 billion over the same period last year. Most of the items in direct lottery business expenses such as agent commissions, compensation fees, profit margin ... also increased sharply, plus the cost of managing the business team up resulting in a net profit of only 145 billion dong.

Semi-annual financial statements also recorded other profits from unlicensed jackpots 3 times more than the same period, up to 116 billion. Part of it is the ticket winning 105 billion, was released in Can Tho at the end of 2017 but can not find the owner.

Vietlott's after tax profit soared to VND 210 billion and exceeded the target of VND 142 billion approved by the Ministry of Finance earlier this year. It is estimated that the company earns a net profit of over VND 35 billion per month.

Vietlott's management said that in the short term to 2020, the company set a target of 20% revenue growth every year to become the leading company in the lottery business of Vietnam. In early May, Vietlott started lottery business in Ninh Thuan, Quang Ngai, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho to increase the total number of active markets to 38.

The company expects to open its new operation in 16 provinces and cities in the coming time, preparing to launch a new lottery with 15 minutes opening time and bringing the number of agents to more than 6,000. late. Vietlott posted a pretax profit of 262 billion.
