It's difficult to guess VT's move, whether to privatize BJLand or not, but one thing is certain though, VT is not a man of honoring his own words. So, best not hoping for a dividend or a privatization deal...

Yup! Same goes for BJCorp...Apparently left hand has been selling to right hand for a long time. Only difference this time...instead of using hidden hands, VT is officially using BJCorp & BJLand for shares buyback, setting a benchmark price in the market for a purpose which is brewing...so book ur tickets as...It's Now or Never!

Too profitable & attractive for him to privatise & earn much more more loh...!!

JDC compensation should be settled with BJLand once MCO lifted by May & once the cash comes from JDC compensation & GMOC arbitration, share price may not be this cheap anymore as not much free floating shares left...

Trapped in a share with zero return is stupid.

To meet shareholding spreads breach in Nov 2019, BJCorp has entered into direct business transaction to who knows what then to dispose some shares. With the recent 70 million shares added, wonder how many is collected from this who knows what?

From BJLand's core activities (ref : https://www.berjaya.com/berjaya-land/corporate-profile.php)
(i) Gaming and Lottery Management; -- Have Sports Toto listed separately already
(ii) Hotels, Resorts, Recreation Development and Vacation Timeshare; -- Maybe can consider listed separately under BHR (Berjaya Hotels and Resorts); currently it already has own website : https://www.berjayahotel.com/
(iii) Property Investment and Development; -- Maybe can consider listed separately under Berjaya Properties; currently it already has own website : https://www.berjayaproperties.com/
(iv) Motor Retailing; -- Maybe can consider combine Berjaya Motor Trading with Berjaya Assembly Sdn. Bhd and listed separately.
Then perhaps, Privatization of BJLand maybe is the goal or underway and ultimately having each Business to focus on its own sector.
But not sure will these really happening and if so, how will shareholders benefit from these.

Yup! Remember the biggest shareholders are BJCorp & VT related companies with 87%, they will get the lion's share once the cash comes. Only thing... they don't want to share as much as possible with minority, while the Buyback in progress to mop up the cheap shares from market and getting Macais to discourage others from topping up...Also BJCorp share price almost parity for a share swap?

Looks Good! from first share buyback on 8/4 to latest shares buyback on 22/4. Cumulative treasury shares has increased to 79.8 million shares from 12.4 million on 8/4 representing 1.6% of total issued shares.

If BJCorp & VT related companies already holds 86%, excluding 1.6% treasury shares held by BJLand, free floating shares left only 12.4% in the market...if still undecided... it's Time to make your moves soon...

It makes sense that BJLand continues shares buyback, for a song as the present market price is, to hold as Treasury Shares.

By the time the treasury shares reach a little over 5.1% of the outstanding number of shares issued, BJCorp's percentage of shareholdings of BJLand will reach 90% to trigger off a Compulsory Acquisition, without having to buy a single extra share over what they already own.

Current Treasury Shares in BJLand stand at just under 1.623%.

Yup! Thxs for the alert on a potential sneaky move by the majority...but since BJCorp & VT related companies already controls 85% of BJLand before commencements of share buyback on 8/4....can anybody confirm the majority needs to acquire 90% of the balance of 15% remaining minority shares I.e. 13.5% to be added to 85% = 98.5% control or a simple 90% control before can initiate compulsory acquisition?

Can @Stockraider or other stock market experts comment on this matter?

truth is, BJLand buying into 7-11 is not a comforting news to BJLand minorities at all, given that 7-11 is already majority owned by BJCorp (or is it VT he himself?) If BJCorp needs to hold more but can't afford to, why isn't BJCorp having BJLand to distribute dividend so BJCorp can buy if BJLand is the entity with free cash. The whole story shows nothing but a majority who isn't willing to share...

Yup! Use ur intuition to know who are VT's Macais in sheep's clothing, always claiming to be minority while trying to discourage others from investing through various means...but quietly helping VT to mop up cheap shares from market...

BJLand even with aggressive shares buyback...is also investing big in2 7Eleven which is privatising Caring Pharmacy...Ultimately, what is the end game? VT to restructure his biz empire?...delisting & privatization of BJLand soon? as planned after sale of FS Kyoto?

wantanmi, what's 7-11 got to do with BJLand? To my understanding, BJLand is a property developer and investor with a majority stake in BJToto providing cash flow to fund its expansion or offering cushion during bad moves/environment. You may love VT's restructuring garbage, but for me to buy more shares because BJLand is buying a bit of this a bit of that but no money to share with its minority shareholders, I would be an idiot...

Dropped from 1.25 in year 2010 and never turn back again.
No dividend given since 2014.
Within these they invested in Vietnam, China Japan, Iceland and recently Myanmar .
Today remained as the lowest priced stock among the peers with the same capacity.
Anybody still holding the 1.25 ???
Why ???

This is sort of expected scenario when you invest in VT shares.
Thats why dont all in and sell some when you have decent profit.
He can afford to play like this for few years and he has been doing it already.
I holding around 1 year + or more and hand chance at easy 30+% profit but nvr sold.
Next time i will sell half and keep another half for privatization or dividend.

wantanmi, I am still keeping my shares, I am not selling because I am pissed off or buying because there's going to be a 'big move.' Though, those looking to buy should be cautious, for one VT is not paying dividend despite profits and VT is using the money to buy shares in companies that's has no relation to BJLand current business but only his own interest...

Stockraider, you are right, my thinking got muddled up. Crossing the 90% line by VT will, instead, render BJLand's public spread falling below the 10% minimum level and result in trading suspension. This would not be in tune with VT's grand plans going by what he had outlined in the news days before Christmas in 2018. To discourage investors for buying? So that can accumulate cheaply??? If there's is a regulator or VT machai, you think who's can more advantageous? For what I see, the price & volume traded already can be arranged. So the action so obvious that can't be using excuses to cover. What kahhoeng point out, is damn so accurate. The only thing, the investment in this company becomes so privately, privatisation. More is , the black sheep for others bursa listing IPO to imitation.
