By opening up the last mile, those under-served and unserved areas by TM will eventually get fast broadband.
Maxis latest offer is compelling. I paid $150 for a 8 Mbps speed. Now Maxis offer 100 Mbps speed for $129.

How will TM survive? The best route is to merge with Axiata so it can offer both mobile n fixed broadband.

TM thought they were smart to restrict their 30Mbps plan for B40...alienating the M40 and T20...which have now been the customer segments targeted by Maxis... well done Maxis..after this Maxis can cross sell, up sell to these 2 big spending groups... the marketing strategy brains are definitely in Maxis. Quick to pounce on opportunities..

Business wise, Maxis new plan really a hit to TM on face. By losing its monopoly business, there is no more value for this company.

Share Market wise, big fund investor will not give TM such high valuation after fall out from FBMKLCI, and foreign fund will sure move money out from TM and invest in other FBMKLCI list company.

Run now or suffer from deep price fall later.

Problem Maxis coverage still not comprehensive compared TM. Now the turning point is TM to announce similar Maxis package to keep existing and extract MD’s customers. Don’t forget TM still monopoly the 93% BB coverage.

BTW if you found the right one...like found a almost perfect wife...put all your heart n mind into just One...all eggs in One basket n watch her very closely day n night. Money are made from maximising your gains... diversification is wasted times n efforts. Those funds managers diversify because they are afraid of lawsuits. @stncws...ya...go n find the 5% that are fantastic...but mostly the price is not right. I or we already sacked all those funds managers long time ago after the 2008 crisis. Bunch of idiots...hahaha...most of them their return are pathetic. Too much diversification...becoz they don't know anything...n too many rules...n elephants in the room. That's why Investing need lot of hard works n experiences. With proper practice you will gain your sixth sense or be more intuitive. The latest Maxis offering is name as "Fibre Nation" where the service call MaxisOne Home Fibre. If your area do have the service than you better subscribe and later sue Maxis. The word Fibre use by Maxis is confusing general public.

Hahaha... intuitively...many people obviously knew all about TM...which Telcos in Malaysia can compete head-on with their fixed HSBB. Of course we knew the mobile BB is almost Probably 70 to 80% coverage but the fixed BB still less than 40%...slower than most developed countries. In the long run mobile n fixed BB will complement... intuitively we will know when to apply mobile n when to use fixed BB. Even if Tenaga come in to compete it still take years to have most areas in Malaysia with both fixed n mobile BB. At present moment TM is still the 'taiko'. Sentiment is still mixed at present...but we shall See...in long run...TQ.
