The Board wishes to announce that TAG has received a letter dated 6 May 2020 from TA Securities, on behalf of the board of directors of TAE, that the board of directors of TAE has resolved to seek the SC’s prior written consent to withdraw the Offer after taking into consideration, amongst others, the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the financial performance of TAG and its subsidiaries (“TAG Group”) during financial year ending 31 December 2020 following the temporary suspension of operations of several hotels of TAG Group in the months of March 2020 and April 2020 as announced by the Board on 13 April 2020. The Board of TAE is of the view that the ripple effects of COVID-19 are still unfolding and the full impact of this pandemic can only be determined until the situation stabilises.

As such, TAE had on 6 May 2020 submitted an application to the SC pursuant to Paragraph 9.11 of the Rules to seek the SC’s prior written consent in relation to the withdrawal of the Offer. Upon receipt of the SC’s prior written consent, the Offer shall cease and TAE will be released from any obligation arising from the Offer with immediate effect.

This announcement is dated 6 May 2020.

during good time , want to wallop and swallow tagb and tae at dirt cheap price and taking maximum advantage of others shareholders. family members enjoying salary and all other perks and give shareholders 1 sen dividend. now, with the pandemic and no income from those hotels, again try to pass back to everyone to share the losses and burdens. do the tiah's thought of shareholders when they make the offer before the pandemic.????????? after this is over, will come back with another lower offer.

In 2019 TAE had earnings per share of 8.58 cts yet pay only 1 ct dividend. So stingy despite got almost RM1.2bn cash!

with their hotel assets, TAGB will go bust. those hotel assets cater mainly to corporate travel and high-end leisure travel....both of which will not recover anytime soon.

csan, if tiah no money, why try to buy up tagb and finally tae and dirt cheap price with his snake scheme. he think SC his grandfather, suka suka submit and withdraw, even if tagb go bust much better. all the assets sell at 50% discount also worth more than 28 sen

Sc should reject TT request . A precedent has been set by Bursa who reject Affin Bank reduction of the dividend payment.

In addition, TT has not shown good faith in this takeover offer. The Hotel operations of TAGB were close in March & April but on 10th April TAE still submit th application for additional listing application in relation to the proposal. By then, the Board would have known the impact of Covid 19 on the company. Why wait till the last Minute ie 6th May 2020 to announce the withdrawal . May 8th is th elast date to dispatch the Offer Documents .

If SC agree to the withdrawal it will set bad precedent to the integrity of the stock market and bad corporate governance. SC should stick to their gun and not to be intimated by TT. It time that Rules and Regulations be followed and not only apply when it favours teh Offerror.... time for the monority shareholders to take a stand and fight back ..
