Not everyone can read financial report of AAX, tomorrow expect some profit taking from retailer side. It is a good news to AAGB as AAX cash flow is positive and minimal chance to request capital injection.
If tomorrow C65 drop below 0.03 then can eat up as much as possible. If you study AAX latest quarter result, you will know the major loss of this year due to impairment of receivables which is non cash items. Operating wise it generate 90m cash flow for whole year. For sure AAGB will have good profit.
1) Average fuel price increased 29% 2) Average passenger fare reduced 6% 3) Average ancillary revenue per passenger reduced 3% 4) Load factor reduced 5%
Taken together, it means AAX was not able to pass on fuel cost increases to customers as demand sagged. This is also reflected in lower Sales in Advance of 676m compared to prior year of 715m.
AAX's passengers are typically leisure travellers and are affected by disposable income and confidence level with the economy whereas AA's passengers are business / routine travellers, thus, demand is more inelastic. But the risks is AAX will require rights issue to recapitalise its weak balance sheet which will affect AA's dividend.
If the error is confirmed, then profit should be 15m, simply can't have so much effect from tax. A company that doesn't make money can have so much tax burden?
Anyway, as predicted, maintenance and operating expenses dropped sharply, that's the only good thing.
This reminds me of what Mao did in the 50s. Say you produce 2 tons of grains, but the officer report 10 tons of grains, tax is 20%, so the farmers got nothing left to eat. Sad Chinese and AAX.
aiyoo AAX is so budget they use Excel spreadsheet to do their P/L statement meh? no more uses SAP meh? if they use SAP no error one lor. the system is smart enough to tell you cannot have too much tax if you dont make too much money haar? kikiki
AAX's Property plant and equipment dropped from 1.65b in Q3 to 0.62b in Q4. Assets were shifted to Assets held for Sales (Current Assets). That likely meant:
1) there will be sale and lease back of assets to raise cash. 2) the higher tax is due to earlier capital allowance recognised being reversed when assets are shifted from Non-Current Assets to Assets Held for Sale.
This is focus on short term cash flow vs long term financials ...... I suspect there will be rights issue in the near future and AA will have to set aside cash to subscribe.
Fuel hedging As at 30 Sept 2018, outstanding number of barrels of Brent and fuel derivative contracts was 251,232 barrels (2017: 1,265,510 barrels).
Fuel hedging As at 31 December 2018, outstanding number of barrels of Brent and fuel derivative contracts was 4,857,328 barrels (2017: 364,862 barrels).
Consumption in Q4 was 1.3 million barrels. This meant AAX hedged approx 11 months of its fuel requirements for 2019 ..... I suspect AA should have similar pattern which will be good as it may mean that it has locked down cheap oil prices.
Stockpicker, good finding. With this base locked in cost, then what AA need to do is only focus to boost the sales and improve efficiency of the operations.
For the balance of cash at bank, then have to spend out.
I just suspect that the volume all holding by institutional investors and the price surge is unstoppable. Is it any news that it will be have some major announcement accompany together with this quarter result?
While securing the base profit d, now taking more aggressive way to bet again for this quarter major announcement. IF there is any special dividend/expansion plan/interim dividend/good core profit to be announced, then will hit the jackpot.
It is expected profit taking by many retailer investors this morning as want to secure profit in hand. While the other side investor actually come out to continue collect their daily target volume of 5m-8m.
Now again, collect something in bin center. Lets see whether the bet is correct. Another Carlberg with RM1 dividends (final plus special dividend, hope so).
Told that retail investors will worry, last week retail investors are more towards short term trader which do not have intention to hold long. But also cannot blame because every one have their own risk profile and the intention to lock in profit.
Learn for this time lo. But you safe your profits. Results not out yet.. No worry~~bro Tony is accountant background sure know how to manipulation the FS.
Is market maker eat up the volume. After eat up more than 3-4m volume which is the balance yesterday the retailer bought, then will have show in afternoon section. Now the issue is when AAGB result to be announced.
