AirAsia's BigPay among eight companies approved to provide online loans
KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): AirAsia Bhd’s digital wallet provider BigPay Later Sdn Bhd, along with seven other “licensed credit community” companies, has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) to provide online loans.

The approval was announced during the Ministry’s online money lending guidelines virtual session which was launched by its Minister, Zuraida Kamaruddin, today.

The seven other companies are Axiata Digital Capital Sdn Bhd, Grabfin Operations (M) Sdn Bhd, GHL Payments Sdn Bhd, Presto Credit Sdn Bhd, JCL Credit Leasing Sdn Bhd, Fortune Tree Capital Sdn Bhd and Hoop Fintech Sdn Bhd.

AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the approval was a lifeline to BigPay and he hoped that it would provide people the chance to do business and have a decent life.

“In this COVID-19 pandemic period, this financing will be available to the B40 group (and) the aim is trying to get loans approved in minutes,” he told Bernama.

Tony major plan is to tap into digital banking since starting of 2019 but it had happen so many case in between until covid is the main reason that pull it down. Nevertheless, AirAsia no longer just an airline company, potential growth is going to lead back previous price and once covid end, it will get higher. Looking forward in 2021-2022

Useless la..diversify to food delivery business when GRAB and food panda has already a network effect in the food delivery market. If AA can untung, it wont be much from this venture when debts are still pilling.

TF is now doing deliveries to get sympathy from the public. This baller paid 90 cents of dividends when the AAX was already doing badly and AA's share price was already tanking. AA and AAX is burning cash like cray cray. The government should not bailout these mismanaged companies and get rid of this selfish con artist, then sell AA and MAS to China to save Malaysian jobs. Proton-Geely is another success story. He should learn from bosses from Big 4 Gloves company who are contributing almost half a billion ringgit to government coffers. I may sound a bit harsh but this is truth.
