Ho hup awarded Iraq contract. Ho hup hooray!!!!

The Board of Directors of Ho Hup wishes to announce that the Company had been awarded a contract for rehabilitation of 44 km length of the Al-hawraa District Roads and Rehabilitation for all the infrastructure and utilities services in Al-hawraa District, Iraq (hereinafter referred to as "the Contract"). The Contract sum is for Iraqi Dinar 71,392,461,600 or approximately USD58 million. The Contract was awarded by the Commission of Construction, Wassit Province in Iraq and terms confirmed on 20 February 2014.

The contract work is expected to be carried out over three and a half years and be completed in June 2017.

The Contract is not expected to have any material impact to the financials for the year ending 2014 and is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the Company.

In carrying out the Contract, Ho Hup will undertake the role as the main contractor and will appoint and work with locally established Iraqi sub-contractors for the project execution and project financing. The Company is of the opinion that the project and country risks associated with this project will be adequately mitigated by the appointment of established and reliable local Iraqi subcontractors. The Contract sum in Iraqi Dinar is subject to foreign exchange risk.

None of the Directors and/or Major Shareholders and/or persons connected to them, have any interest, direct or indirect in the Contract.

Tj, abang punya frb salah guess. You see Insas-Inari-Hohup-Frb now satu group besar. Hohup isnin naik pasal dapat kontrak di Iraq. Frb quarter result out Isnin juga.

smalltimer, HoHup needed another 2 positive quarters to exit PN17, the latest date for quarter result announcement is FEB 28th and next quarter result would be May 31st. HoHup worth the waiting coz they are building shopping malls in Bukit Jalil, not just any residential project.

All co. have 2 months till 28th to annouce their 31 Dec 2013 results. So maybe today after 5 pm or latest tomorrow after 5 pm but the BIG news if when and whether Bursa will approve their EARLY exit from PN 17.

In accordance with the Practice Note 17 (“PN17”) Section 5.2(c) of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad’s (“Bursa Securities”) Main Market Listing Requirements (“Listing Requirements”), a company that undertakes a regularisation plan which does not result in a significant change in the business direction or policy of the PN17 company must record a net profit for two (2) consecutive quarterly results immediately after the completion of the implementation of the plan.

The Company wishes to inform that, on 5 March 2014, M&A Securities Sdn. Bhd. had on behalf of the Company, submitted an application to Bursa Securities for an early upliftment from being classified as a PN17 company under the Listing Requirements. The Company’s application is subject to Bursa Securities’ approval. An announcement will be made once the Company receives a decision from Bursa Securities.

the only co. that was approved for early upliftment so far was THHeavy. They submiited on 31/7/12 and was only approved on 31/10/12. 3 long months!
