Increase maxis stock at 6.55 : )

Posted by Brien Chia Zi Hao > 2012-11-16 15:32 | Report Abuse

it's an abonormal run on a traditionally strong counter. someone is dumping stock to induce a downward momentum, and will actually increase his holdings when the stock has been battered into the ground, and people realize that nothing about maxis actually changed...

Most probably AK want to increase his maxis stock again after he reduce his stock at price 6.7 before astro ipo listing to funding astro ipo. Now astro stablize on uptrend, so AK back to hold his favourite maxis. A strong uptrend on maxis expected next week.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 16):  Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today (Friday) announced more mega projects under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to propel the nation forward.

Among the mega projects announced today were the development of PJ Sentral Garden City by Nusa Gapurna on a 40-acre site in Seksyen 52 with gross development value of RM11 billion and a RM1.58 billion investment to breed Arowana fish in Kedah and Perak, to be carried out jointly by Northern Corridor Implementation Authority, Jabatan Perikanan and a private company.

A big project in East Malaysia announced is the development of a 300MW gas fired combined cycle power plant in Kimanis, Sabah, with investment of up to RM1 billion, by a joint venture (JV) between Petronas Gas Bhd and Yayasan Sabah's unit Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd.

In addition, MMC Corporation Bhd's unit Seaport Worldwide will develop RM1.02 billion Petrochemical and Maritime Industrial Centre in Tanjung Bin, the prime minister said.

Apart from projects, Najib also announced the liberalisation of more sectors of the economy.

Sixteen : singtel target different country market, singapore population growth is limited, increase in pr, not citizen. Sg economic growth only 1.3% this third quarter, msia got 5.2%. if sg pr move bek to msia. Then singtel will suffer.

TM offer minimun RM30 for hypptv with lower-popularty channels.

MAXIS will partner with ASTRO in future to offer attractive HOME FIBRE + ASTRO HD package with high-popularity channels.

ledzepp,i am maxis shareholder, not maxis salesman.

for any investing, we need to understand their biz and their competition biz, promotion package.

My info is for investor, not for trader like you.

i dont think you can make money in MAXIS for short term, for medium term (one to two months) there are possibility, for long term MAXIS definitely more than 25% (5% dividen + 20% capital gain).

MAXIS give attractive dividend every quarter, not minimal dividend. MAXIS have 2nd highest dividend yield just after BAT.

If MAXIS price is RM 6.5, the annual yield is 6.15% (5x8cents).
If MAXIS price is RM 7.0, the annual yield is 5.17% (5x8cents).

This high rate of annual yield almost as good as amanah saham ady (6-7%) and unit trust. However, MAXIS definitely have capital gain in long term (predicted 20% annually), somemore you can withdraw your cash in stock market in 3 working days, unit trust you must keep at least 5 years.

In conclusion, MAXIS stock is a smarter choice than all unit trusts and amanah raya.

I have positive view on ASTRO also for medium term (one or two months, price will up after quarter earning release) to long term (one or two years)

if you in the industry loop, you'll be aware that TM have the largest fiber network infrastructure follow by Time. Even if the subscription of Maxis packages were to increase or grow in future , it will still benefit those who leases the fiber infrastructure to them indirectly :)

passerby : TM have the largest fiber network infrastructure, it is possible that TM not lease fiber infrastructure to MAXIS or purposely lease it with high-rate, it is controlled by MCMC (Malaysia communcation & multimedia community) ? Appreciate you can share info since you are in the industry loop. ;)

Josh: they are moving towards market liberization -open market. If there is report that TM don't wanna lease the infrastructure , MCMC & relevant parties will give pressure

On the issue purposely lease it with high-rate? I think only those sealing the deals will know & it won't be revealed to public. I believe as long as they are willing to lease, regardless what is pricing, they should be able to escape the noise

It is the "landlord" call not "tenant" call. Landlord will say,you want to rent, this is the price, don't want, go build your own :) but how many companies can build/ install their own or willing to fork out such capex ?

On surface, it looks like the market is already open as they are sharing the infrastructure but in actual, it is still being monopolized by TM. The only close visible competitor in term of fiber infrastructure will be Time so far.

Posted by Brien Chia Zi Hao > 2012-11-23 15:49 | Report Abuse

They should be posting a dividend soon...strange that there's no news...usually they're quite on time when it comes to announcements?

next week, Axiata, Maxis & TM will be reporting their quarterly financial report

Axiata & Maxis on 28th

TM on 30th

Concurrently UMNO general assembly from 27th Nov to 1st Dec, suspecting market reacting over UMNO general assembly ?? just a guess

Posted by Brien Chia Zi Hao > 2012-11-23 16:02 | Report Abuse

SO by combining a dividned announcement, the financial statement, and the UMNO general assembly, should result in a stock boost? sounds plausible...

Telcos really being hammered lately..

josh, what about pbbank? Is the counter within the top 3 dividend paying list?
Is maxis a better buy than digi?

Stock operator : Please refer to this link below, is quite consistent with the ranking i check using Maybank stock analysis.

http://www.topyields.nl/Top-dividend-yields-of-KLCI30.php' target='_blank'>http://www.topyields.nl/Top-dividend-yields-of-KLCI30.php

For analysis on Maxis and Digi, pls refer my previous post on MAXIS and DIGI. Both are very good counter(top 2 and top 3 in dividend yield, currently low share price make both more attractive).

MAXIS target for high-end postpaid & prepaid, MAXIS home fibre internet, wireless internet and low-rate of IDD call.

while DIGI target for low-end postpaid& low-end prepaid with creative marketing.

Celcom high-end postpaid will take over by MAXIS, celcom prepaid will take over by DIGI.

In conclusion, i would recommended to buy both MAXIS and DIGI because there will share the market by different type of user segment, celcom will become weaker in long term. Suggest you to buy MAXIS first for more stable profile, then progressively buy DIGI for more profit margin.

do remember there is the the telco liberalization black cloud hanging over the big three (of four?) telcos! who the cikus coming in so far, nobody knows! we can only assume Umobile, Redtone, etc. but i think the telco big boys are heading towards the data segment and less investment on voice. the small cake will be shared by these smaller boy, because as in Maxis' case, its proving to be a loss making venture with the advent of better and better internet data connection for internet calls! no thanks to skype!

in some sense, the Airasia effect may come, not the astro one! :)

i think the annual report also not so transparent to its shareholders then.

is your question asking where is the annual report financial statement, business model revenue (data & voice) or who are the client base?
